176w ago - Update #2: Mike Kebby from SCEE's PlayStation Store Team has now confirmed the Heavy Rain PS3 demo will be hitting the PlayStation Store on February 11, 2010.

Update: Sony has just confirmed that Heavy Rain will be hitting PS3 store shelves in North America on February 23, grace mainland Europe on February 24, and hit the UK and Ireland on February 26, 2010... meaning the initial date Qore set of the 16th was inaccurate.

Today Examiner.com (linked above) has revealed that Qore Episode 20 dates the Heavy Rain North American PS3 release for February 16, 2010.

Additionally, CVG has reported that the UK should see a February 26th street date for the PlayStation 3 title.

191w ago - After Sony's Keynote address, Kazunori Yamauchi has just announced at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan press conference at the Tokyo Game Show that the official release date for Gran Turismo 5 is March 2010.

Additionally, the following GT5 modes and features were revealed:

• GT Mode: World Map, My Garage, Car Dealer, Tuning Shop, Championship Race, and License Test.
• Online: Open Lobby, Text/Voice Chat, Private Room, Online Photo Album, Online Replay Album, and you can export replays to YouTube.
• Photo Mode: Photo Drive, Photo Stage.
• GT TV: Improved UI, export of videos to PSP, and progressive downloading.

To quote: "Featuring lots of new cars, lifelike graphics, and amazing racing physics, GT5 will quickly become regarded as the top racing simulation game of all-time.

The game will feature over 950 cars, 20 locations, and 70 tracks.

202w ago - PS3Center.net (linked above) has revealed that the next Experience! PlayStation event will be held on July 11, 2009 in Osaka, Japan.

For those unaware, Experience! PlayStation is an event that takes place on a near-monthly basis in Japan. Attendees are allowed to test-play upcoming PS3 and PSP game releases.

Today they announced the details for the next event, to quote:

The next event will take place on July 11 near the Hankyu Umeda Station in Osaka, Japan.

Exhibit hours are scheduled for 12:00 to 18:00. PS3 games that will be making appearance are; Professional Baseball Spirits 6, Katamari Damacy Tribute and more. Swelling, and Toro (SCE) of 3 is exhibited.

PSP games will also be making an appearance such as Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, and a new Konami baseball game for the PSP. The next event in August will feature the highly anticipated Tales of Vs.

208w ago - BioShock 2 will be available in Europe on October 30th and in North America on November 3rd.

It will be hitting XBox 360, PC and the PS3 console platforms.

To quote: During Take-Two's second quarter financial conference call, CEO Ben Feder announced that BioShock 2 will release in Europe on Friday, October 30, while North American gamers will be returning to Rapture on Tuesday, November 3.

It's worth noting that Take Two still lists the game's platforms as "TBA." Given that the previous title was released for Xbox 360, PC and (eventually) PS3, and that Take-Two enjoys making money, it's likely the game will again hit all three high-definition platforms.

There is still the question as to the order in which the game will hit those platforms, though, and with E3 looming, a timed-exclusivity announcement may be in the offing.
