3w ago - Today Kai at Frozenbyte announced that Trine 2: Complete Story is coming to PS4 / PlayStation 4 tomorrow with details below.
To quote: Hi everyone. I'm very happy to announce that Trine 2: Complete Story is a PS4 launch game. That was our goal, and it's been a hectic few months, but we've made it. Trine 2: Complete Story is now officially lined up to arrive on PS4 tomorrow.
In the trailer above, you'll see some of the new skills that are available in the Complete Story version, such as the Knight's Kitesail Shield, and the Thief's Low Gravity Arrow. There are a total of 20 levels full of adventure, with sceneries ranging from lush forests to a scorching hot desert, and the insides of a gigantic sandworm - even isles floating in the sky.
Trine 2: Complete Story supports DualShock 4′s touch pad, and it makes many elements of the gameplay very intuitive. An example of this is drawing boxes or planks with the wizard, and moving them around and interacting with the environment.
On the tech side, Trine 2 runs at beautiful full HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. It's truly a sight to see, and what's more is that we're also one of the few games at launch with stereoscopic 3D support. So remember...
4w ago - The Fyzz Facility Head of Mobile Manager Robert Karp confirmed today that Backgammon Blitz is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this Winter.
Below are the details, to quote: Hi! I'm Rob Karp. You may remember me from my role as producer at XDev Studio, where I worked on a number of Sony's first-party games over the years.
Today I want to tell you about my latest venture, which is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita this winter. It's called Backgammon Blitz, and it's a game I'm pumped for.
Backgammon has been played for centuries by gamers young, old, and ancient. It appears to be a simple game about getting your checkers around the board before your opponent, but has immense layers of depth and strategy to it.
I'm just the messenger, of course. The talented folks behind this lovely little title are VooFoo Studios. Having made a name for themselves with Hustle Kings and Pure Chess, Backgammon feels like a step onwards and upwards for the studio, taking all of their strengths (gorgeous art design, a subtle but stylish approach to UI) and none of their weaknesses (cake night every Friday) into the next generation of platforms.
The team are so keen to whet your appetite for the world of backgammon that they're offering a trial version of the game that'll teach you the...
4w ago - XSeed Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz posted up a video today announcing that Ys: Memories of Celceta is coming to PS Vita on November 26th, 2013.
To quote: It's Thanksgiving weekend. Your whole family is in a tryptophan-induced coma from eating too much turkey. But you? You ate nothing but pumpkin pie, so you're still wide awake.
Fortunately, you've got your trusty Vita on hand, along with a copy of the Ys: Memories of Celceta Silver Anniversary Edition, which launches on November 26th. So while your in-laws all dream of sugarplums and dandelions, you'll be off exploring the Great Forest and saving the world from evil yet again.
The latest installment in Nihon Falcom's 25 year-old RPG franchise, Ys: Memories of Celceta, is a complete reimagining of the series' legendary fourth installment. To make a long story short(ish), Ys IV is a game that's been published in Japan three times previously - and all were completely different games that were developed independently by different companies.
Despite each one introducing and greatly expounding upon some of the franchise's most pivotal lore, Falcom never actually created their own version of the game... until now.
And in keeping with tradition, this is no mere remake. The story is brand new, and the land...
4w ago - Sega of America Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber announced that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F is coming to PS Vita!
Below are the details, to quote: Hello there, PS Vita owners! Halloween may have just passed, but SEGA has one more special treat for you.
Following the fantastic response to the PS3 release of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F, SEGA is proud to announce that we have now begun development to bring Project Diva f to PS Vita in the West!
Yes, you read that right. You're not dreaming. Watch the Vita announcement trailer above, take a deep breath, and then let loose that smile.
Now, I want you all to think back a few months to when we released Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F on PS3... do you remember what the user comments here on Playstation.Blog looked like?
"We want the Vita version!" you told us. "Please, I'd sell my soul for a Vita version!*" someone said.
Today, we're overjoyed to not only share the good news of a PS Vita release, but to also finally add a shiny new soul to our collection. (We'll put it in our lobby, right next to the big Miku standee.)
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f will be releasing in early 2014 on PS Vita, and we'll have more news...
5w ago - Tribute Games Writer Yannick Belzil posted up a video today announcing Mercenary Kings is coming this Winter to PS4.
To quote: It's great for us at Tribute Games to be back at the ol' Playstation.Blog. Ah, has it been that long since our hotly commented post (16 scorching comments!) back in the summer of 2013?
We're simply thrilled to be part of Sony's indie line-up for PS4. Having been a part of the E3 presentation is still a big deal to us.
If you don't know us at Tribute Games, we're an indie developer way up in Montreal, Canada. We create classic-looking games with modern twists - in this case here, Mercenary Kings, which looks like a nice, old-fashioned, run-and-gun platformer from the bygone '80s and '90s... but it's actually ENHANCED with a deep weapon and item crafting system!
You can try to make your way and destroy C.L.A.W. (Cyber Loyalists Active Weapon) clan with your regular pistol, but as you progress through Mandragora Island and pick up materials, almost every character back at your HQ offers huge crafting possibilities. There are more than 300 gun parts to mix and match.
You could enhance your weapon's magazine capacity, or forge an elemental blade that can freeze your...
