Sony Announces PlayStation Official App v1.1 is Coming Soon

170w ago - Update: The Sony PlayStation Official App version 1.1 for both Android and iPhone is now available!

Sony Portal Manager Emmanuel Orssaud has announced today that the PlayStation Official App v1.1 is coming soon from the iTunes and Android Market.

To quote: I'm pleased to announce that the next version (1.1) will include some of the most requested features.

This new version will be available for download in a few weeks from iTunes and Android Market. Let's take a look at the new features and improvements.

In the MyPSN section you'll be able to order your friend list based on their online status and search for friends.

You will now have the ability to compare trophy information with your friends in more detail, as shown in the screenshots below.

In the Blog section, you'll now be able to comment directly from the app and also rate the posts in portrait and landscape mode.

Share & Discuss

There is a new section in the app called Share & Discuss. In there you'll find all our official
PlayStation updates from Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

Please note that this new version will not support Android 1.6 anymore. Please upgrade your firmware before installing the new version of the PlayStation...
 

PSGrade - PS3 Downgrading, Master Key and Hex Codes Arrive!

198w ago - Update: According to several members (including jensen76, evilsperm, and sk group) when you downgrade a PS3 with the Modified 3.41 PUP (below), it currently cripples the Blu-ray player functionality. Some additional PS3 Blu-ray fix updates are outlined HERE, however, a more stable solution is still being worked on.

To quote from [Register or Login to view links] on one work-around: "I was able to restore one machine I had, by copying over all the files I had in the /dev_flash2 and /dev_flash3 back to the HDD, that I had saved before when it was on v3.41"

Code Freak PS3 Cheat Device is Slated to Hit Japan This Winter

201w ago - Today GamersMint.com (linked above) reports that an unofficial PS3 Cheat Device made by Code Freak is slated to hit Japan this winter.

The upcoming PS3 cheat code device is currently being marketed on Japanese site [Register or Login to view links] for PS3 consoles on PlayStation 3 Firmware 3.41 or below.

To quote: "This device will be used with the PS3 and will cost around 7800 Yen (around $100 via [Register or Login to view links]).

Though the current firmware version for the PS3 is 3.50, this device will only be compatible with v3.41, as stated on the product's website.

It will be available for sale by the end of this year and is claimed to provide cheats for more than 50 titles at the moment, that includes FF XIII and Demon's Souls."

201w ago - Today garyopa at PSX-Scene reports that Maximus has [Register or Login to view links] AnyHex for pre-compiled ATMEL PS3 hex codes to convert them into flashable binaries for PIC18F devices along with some videos.

To quote from the official site: Porting the .hexes from the daily new payloads is taking me more time than I expected, and since you deserve a faster port of the payloads to the PIC18F devices I decided to invest some time in a new HID Loader 2.0 with a new "any hex" Import Feature, basically with this you dont need to wait never for me to port the payloads to the MAXAVRUSB 1.2 32KB or to the PIC18FUSB devices.

Just do the Import of the .hex from any ATMEL device (Teensy suggested) and the new application will convert to the PIC format. I have tested with kakaroto, psn yes, hermes, etc. Consider this new feature as BETA. CLICK...
