To quote: What with the release of DiRT Showdown on PS3 inching ever closer, we turned to twitter to find out what you guys need to know about the game, and then had those questions answered by Mike Chapman, Senior Designer on the game.
Is this just something to keep us going until Dirt 4?
It has to be said that the idea for a game like DiRT Showdown has been in the studio's collective mind for some time. After we finished work on DiRT 3, we knew that the time was right for the DiRT team to explore some new avenues.
First and foremost though, the game will be an exciting DiRT experience in its own right and we're confident that our existing fans will appreciate the direction we've taken, especially with what that means for future games in the series.
DiRT franchise is awesome! Thoroughly love the way it's progressed. Would you guys ever return to GRiD?
It's great to see that, years after its release, the original GRID is still such a popular game and that people have hopes for a sequel.
Matching and exceeding expectations would of course be our highest priority...

To quote: We're very excited to be able to reveal to you the latest title in our award-winning DiRT series: DiRT Showdown!
Before I tell you a bit more about the game, take a look at our newly released announcement trailer to give you an idea of the kind of high-octane action you can expect to see in the game.
DiRT Showdown is due out on PS3 in May 2012, and is brought to you by the same team that brought you the other titles in the award-winning DiRT series. The game combines pick-up-and-play controls with electrifying events, frenzied crowds, and stunning graphics to deliver high-octane, dive in and drive thrills straight from the first event.
The game's going to feature three main disciplines built around the pillars of speed, style and destruction. To help illustrate what I'm talking about, here's a broad breakdown of the three disciplines in question.
No holds barred racing events: Trade paint and use nitrous to blast past rivals in DiRT Showdown's racing modes. Courses are littered with obstacles, pinch points,...

the_ghost__NL: what can we do in the co-op mode?
Co-op Mode enables you to play through a single season alongside a friend. Imagine the single-player experience (minus the paddock) with your friend as team-mate. It brings an entirely new dimension to Practice, Qualifying and Race sessions... can you win the Constructor's together?
Tom_Sheldon: Is the co-op championship available online or just split-screen only?

129w ago - Codemasters Community Manager Benjamin Bateman is here with some fresh video footage from E3 2011 of Bodycount on the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: Bodycount is back and I'm here to divulge all the juicy intel. The Codemasters Guildford studio has been tightly clammed since last year's E3 so you'd be forgiven for asking, what is Bodycount?
Bodycount is an adrenaline-inducing, explosive torrent of action, destruction and gun ecstasy. It's an FPS that puts the fun back into firepower. But these words can barely do it justice, so here's our brand new gameplay trailer from E3.
Right off the bat you can see the explosive boom-stick that is the shotgun, and it really sums up what Bodycount is. This isn't just another shooter; this is a gun centerfold that gives you amazingly satisfying guns that you will never forget.
The mantra in the team has been 'gun, bullet, world' - everything is focused on the experience of squeezing the trigger, hearing bullets tear through the air and watching them obliterate enemies and the environment.
Every gun has been carefully crafted for your gaming pleasure. Bodycount has everything from a deadly pistol all the way up to super-charged futuristic weaponry used...
195w ago - Codemasters member Stuart Black summed up Bodycount's interactive environment by the following, to quote via IGN:
Take a gun to a wooden weapons crate, and it will slowly, believably disintegrate, the wood chipping away to reveal a more stubborn metal frame and within an ammo box that sits atop a bundle of straw - shoot the ammo box and as you'd expect it's fireworks time.
None of which may sound thrilling in itself, but here's the thing - this extent of destructibility extends to nearly everything in Bodycount's world.
Spray a vending machine with bullets and it'll begin to tear itself apart convincingly until all that's left is a metal skeleton and a pile of broken glass. It's a first-person shooter with an exacting eye for the explosive.
If that doesn't have you interested, please check yourself for a pulse. Bodycount's single player follows main character John Doe as he blows up, shoots apart, and kills everything he (you) can.
The game boasts an intriguing, mysterious story driven by testosterone through what will become one of the best game environments to date. The main character, John Doe, is "dragged out" of retirement by a shady organization named simply "The Network".
The player soon finds that the Network is not a good...
