105w ago - Capcom's Shawn Baxter has shared some new video footage today from this year's E3 Expo of Street Fighter X Tekken for the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Street Fighter X Tekken (by the way, the "X" is pronounced "cross") might just have been the busiest game of Capcom's E3 booth.

Street Fighter X Tekken has a little something for Street Fighter and Tekken fans alike.

Our E3 build had playable characters including Ryu, Ken, Guile, Abel, Sagat, Cammy, and Chun-Li from Street Fighter as well as Kazuya, Nina, King, Marduk, Hwoarang, Julia and Bob from Tekken (with plenty more to be revealed soon!).

109w ago - Today James Gallagher has shared a video and word that Capcom's Asuras Wrath currently points to a 2012 release on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: After seeing this trailer at Captivate, the hotel was rattling with chat of 'God Finger', 'Heavenly Point' and 'Space Cuticle'.

The game was actually Asura's Wrath and, with so many of the games on show such as Dragon's Dogma suggesting a shift towards more Western influences with new Capcom games, it had a distinctly Japanese feel along similar lines to the likes of God Hand.

However, while there's nothing new about an action game featuring gigantic Gods, there's one series that PlayStation fans are particularly familiar with, so I asked director Seiji Shimoda how far the similarities run...

First of all I'm honored for Asura's Wrath to be mentioned in the same breath as God of War - I have played it and it's an incredible game. 114w ago - SCEE Blog Manager James Gallagher has unveiled Capcom's announcement today alongside a video trailer of Dragon's Dogma for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.

To quote: Dragon's Dogma is a new intellectual property from the creators of Devil May Cry 4 and Resident Evil 4. And while it resembles another Capcom series featuring monsters and the hunting thereof, we're promised a unique experience when the game launches in "early 2012."

I played a short demo and met with the game's director, Hideaki Itsuno, and it's producer, Hiroyuki Kabayashi, at Capcom's Captivate event in Miami last week.

"While they may have some superficial similarities, they are very different games at heart," explains Hideaki when asked about comparisons to Monster Hunter. "One key difference is that Dragon's Dogma has an overarching story whereas in Monster Hunter the focus is on the hunt."

154w ago - Capcom PR Manager Wes Phillips has shared a video today highlighting EVO fighting game masters battle it out with Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on Sony's PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: This is a big weekend for fighting game fans, as the world's best descend upon Caesars Palace in Las Vegas for the EVO 2010 World Fighting Finals this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Thousands of contestants from over 30 countries will battle it out for fame, glory and cash in Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter II HD Remix, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, and a couple non-Capcom games... Tekken 6 and Melty Blood: Actress Again.

Registration for the event is officially closed, but that doesn't mean you can't get a piece of the action. If you can make the trip to Las Vegas, admission to watch the event is free.





We'll also have the E3 build of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 available to play on PlayStation 3 for anyone who shows up! This will be the first time the game is playable for the general public.

156w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared an interview with Capcom Producer Mike Schmitt on Dead Rising 2 for PS3 from E3 2010.

To quote: While Sid and I conducted a video interview on Marvel vs Capcom 3 (post coming soon!), SCEE's James Gallagher traveled across the cavernous Capcom booth to the Dead Rising 2 area.

The game has progressed significantly on PS3 since we saw it a couple months back, so he held a chat with Producer Mike Schmitt. And because James is English, he didn't even realize that the man hit over 500 home runs! Facepalm!

Fortunately, the fact that he wasn't starstruck allowed him to focus on the game itself. Have at it, James:

Dead Rising 2 is a zombie game with its tongue hanging out of its cheek. You control Chuck Greene, a motorcross champion trapped in a zombie apocalypse in the fictional Fortune City, which is loosely based on Las Vegas.
