183w ago - It's time for my brand new Call of Duty 6 PS3 review. I'm sorry, I mean Call of Duty 6: Modern Warfare 2... Wait I don't think that's right either. Alright one last try, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, that's the title.

I love the Call of Duty Franchise, but I feel that they may be getting a little out of hand with the titles of their games.

Although Activision isn't the only company to mess this up, I find it quite annoying, and a person who doesn't follow the series very closely wont be able to distinguish in what order the games came out without doing research beforehand.

A minor complaint but the question is "Where does this fit into the Call of Duty series?" and quite simply put, Activision decided to split the series into two different game titles.









Modern Warfare made by Infinity Ward, and World at War made by Treyarch. Although the first Modern Warfare game was called Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it is not a part of the original series and instead is classified under their new separate call of duty series.

183w ago - Although it's not a big surprise, a recent IGN Review has revealed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 DLC is already planned by Infinity Ward.

Downloadable content is set to include online map packs alongside missions for the successful Spec Ops.

Additionally, Infinity Ward recently released a small (non-downloadable) update for the console versions containing new gamemodes dubbed 3rd Person Team Tactical, Team Deathmatch Express, and Mosh Pit.

Here are their descriptions, to quote:

"3rd Person Team Tactical
4 vs 4 in the 3rd person perspective with mixed game types such as Domination, TDM, etc.

Team Deathmatch Express
Regular Team Deathmatch with shorter intermissions in between matches

Mosh Pit
A random selection of any game mode. You never know what you're going to play."

184w ago - Over the weekend Teknogods.com (linked above) released a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 MPLoader dubbed TeknoMW2 1.0, which allows PC users to run their own dedicated servers to host multiplayer and LAN games out of the IWNet.

The Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Loader is of course against the terms and rules by Infinity Ward, so it's suggested this be used at your own risk.

However, it is reported that all rooms on the server is already full to max compacity. Additionally, there are already a ton of cheats in the game so Infinity Ward will be very busy these few coming weeks.

185w ago - Update #2: Modern Warfare 2 PS3 Patch Update v1.04 is live, but a changelog is not currently available for it yet.

Update: Modern Warfare 2 PS3 Patch Update v1.03 is now available which also fixes the PS3 Party System issues.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for Sony's PS3 console has reportedly experienced online issues since release with both players being unable to invite friends to matches and unable to unlock PlayStation 3 trophies.

As a result, Infinity Ward's servers are now back online as Robert Bowling (aka fourzerotwo) has now released a PS3 patch update v1.02 to remedy the PS3 Trophies issues, and apparently party invites will be patched this coming Friday.

To quote: "When you start up MW2, you will be prompted to download version 1.02.

Infinity Ward is definitely trying to keep the user satisfaction level high by releasing a patch just a day after MW2 hit shelves. With this 15MB update, everyone will be able to get their trophies now without any issues.
