Video: Primal Carnage: Genesis is Bringing Dinosaurs to PS4

55w ago - Lukewarm Media Founder / Game Director Ashton Andersen has announced today alongside a video that Primal Carnage: Genesis is bringing dinosaurs to PS4.

To quote: At some point, everyone has wondered about what it was like to walk among the dinosaurs. We were wondering that for ourselves, so we've set out to develop Primal Carnage: Genesis.

What better way is there to realize that dream than a new generation of PlayStation hardware to drive an incredible immersive experience?

From towering behemoths like the brachiosaurus and the tyrannosaurus rex to smaller creatures like the velociraptor and the dilophosaurus, there is no doubt that there is something magical about the creatures of the prehistoric world. In order to capture that magic in real time, we used Unreal Engine 4 as our software platform of choice.

As the gameplay itself will feature a mix of linear gameplay and open-world exploration from a first-person human perspective, next-generation rendering is key to selling the lush island environment and suspending the disbelief that these dinosaurs aren't actually, well, real.

In the early stages of development, it became clear that we wanted Primal Carnage: Genesis to champion an immersive story driven experience....

57w ago - GungHo Online Entertainment America Community Coordinator Antonio Cara has confirmed today that they are bringing six more PSOne imports to North America.

Below are the details, to quote: As promised, GungHo is bringing over a new batch of PSone Imports for your enjoyment today! Just like last time, I'd like to chat about these lovely games and what you can expect out of them.

Sentimental Graffiti

This classic dating simulation was first released in the late nineties. It was popular enough to spawn various sequels, an anime series, and even a radio drama! The story revolves around a protagonist who was constantly moving about during his childhood, so he never had time to form deeper relationships with those around him.

He receives a much unexpected letter from a mysterious paramour which simply states, "I want to see you." He's got it narrowed down to one of the 12 special women he met in his younger days, and it's up to the player to decide how this tale ends...

Players control our hero by making use of his incredibly tight schedule. You've only got so much time to spend with these ladies, so you have to make it count!

Carefully plan out each day by studying your calendar and preparing potentially romantic encounters with the 12 candidates....

Back to the Beginning: Bringing Mass Effect to PlayStation 3

71w ago - Mass Effect Trilogy External Producer Ryan Warden has gone back to the beginning on bringing Mass Effect to PlayStation 3 today.

To quote: I'm Ryan Warden, the External Producer for Mass Effect Trilogy. I've been with BioWare for almost nine years now - lately I've been working to help bring you Mass Effect Trilogy for PlayStation 3, and today I'm honored to be able to write a post for PlayStation.Blog!

We began work on Mass Effect Trilogy in earnest last April, shortly after Mass Effect 3 had shipped. The trilogy was complete, but there was a slight complication - there were people who had missed out on one (or more) titles in the series. Clearly this included PS3 owners, who had never had the chance to play the original Mass Effect. Mass Effect Trilogy was a great opportunity to rectify that!

We partnered with Edge of Reality, an external team with whom we've worked on many previous projects. Edge of Reality has a deep understanding of how PS3 works, under the hood, so we thought the project would be a perfect fit.

We had a huge head start because of the work we had done with Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 for PS3, but we still wanted to maintain the look and feel - the classic experience - of the original Mass Effect.

Video: From Board To Screen: Dungeon Twister Lives on PSN

93w ago - Following up on their previous details, today Game Creator Chris Boelinger at Ludically has shared a video dubbed From Board To Screen on Dungeon Twister for PSN.

To quote: Hi - I'm Christophe Boelinger, and I create board games.

My life is dedicated to games. I've made more than 30 games to date, and have always dreamt of seeing one of them turned into a video game. This week, that dream is going to become a reality when that will help you knock me off the top.

When I first designed Dungeon Twister as a board game way back in 2003, I knew it was the perfect candidate for a video game. Its infinite gameplay, the fact that no two games ever the same, the tremendous number of strategies that can be deployed and just how addicted we all got to it suggested that it would be a great videogame.

So I really am delighted that it is coming to PSN tomorrow for £7.99/ €9.99. PlayStation Plus subscribers can also enjoy a 50% reduction on that price for the first two weeks following launch.

As I said, my life is dedicated to games. So please come find me on Playstation Network...

Sony Outlines Resident Evil 6 for PS3: Bringing People Together

95w ago - Sony Brazil Blog Manager Fabio Santana has outlined Resident Evil 6 for PS3 in an interview today, which arrives on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system this October.

Below are the details from the interview, to quote: At E3 2012, Capcom offered a glimpse of the three different scenarios we'll be playing in Resident Evil 6.

Players could enjoy a co-op between Leon Kennedy and newcomer Helena Harper in classic survival-horror style in a Tall Oaks full of zombies, face a boss battle with Jake Muller (son of longtime series baddie Albert Wesker) and Sherry Birkin (aka the little girl from RE2), or battle across the rooftops of China with Chris Redfield and his partner Tony Ponce.

But the company also revealed a new feature behind closed doors: the Crossover system, an evolution of the dual-threaded Scenario mechanic from Resident Evil 2, this time not only intersecting the story of different characters but also bringing their gameplay together in four-player co-op situations.

To demonstrate Crossover, Capcom's developers played a scene where Leon and Helena meet with Jake and Sherry in China. En route via airplane, the US agents are attacked by a B.O.W. (that's Bio-Organic Weapon for the uninitiated) and crash. Wesker's son and his young partner are already on the ground...
