Video: Promote Real Music in BigFest on PlayStation Vita

50°
11w ago - Sony Associate Project Manager Nick Accordino invites PlayStation Vita fans to promote real music in BigFest on PS Vita in a video trailer below.

To quote: Revealed at Gamescom 2013 for PS Vita, BigFest is about building your own festival that will promote real, unsigned bands. Players will go on a journey with the bands with the goal of building their own thriving festival and becoming the most successful promoter in the world.

Do you have what it takes to discover the next big thing, and take them to the top of the charts?

Before you take a band to the top, you'll need to give them a platform, and that means building the best festival you can. Starting with a small stage in a field, it's up to the player to build their festival their way.

Choose the basics from shops and stalls to earn money and use that money to enhance your festival by installing the right speakers, lights and video screens, increasing the "vibe" as you go.

The levels themselves are run as Festival "Posters," with headliners and support acts. Some Posters will let you play whatever music you want while others will have specific needs to succeed. Visitors to a rock festival will have different needs to those at a dance...

Videos: Big Band is Coming to Skullgirls Encore on PS3 Tuesday

50°
15w ago - Lab Zero Games CEO Peter Bartholow posted up some new videos today announcing that Big Band is coming to Skullgirls Encore on PS3 this Tuesday.

To quote: He's almost here: Big Band, Skullgirls Encore's first male character, arrives for free next Tuesday, April 22nd!

Once a regular beat cop known as Ben Birdland, he fell flat when he got on the wrong side of New Meridian's corrupt police force. Birdland was broken and bent out of shape by his former colleagues, but was tuned up by Dr. Avian and ASG Lab 8. Now he is armed with a full ensemble of pneumatic weaponry, transforming him into the full fortissimo instrument of justice: "Big Band."

Thanks to the incredible support of Skullgirls' fans, Big Band is the second of 5 additional characters funded by Lab Zero's Indiegogo campaign to be added to Skullgirls Encore. Big Band is Skullgirls's first male character, and lives up to his name with unique gameplay mechanics that take advantage of his tremendous size and musical motif.

Big Band's a high risk / high reward sort of character - he has a versatile and powerful moveset...

OlliOlli: How to Score Big in PlayStation Vita's New Skate 'em Up

50°
27w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill reveals to PS Vita fans today how to score big in PlayStation Vita's new skate 'em up title OlliOlli below!

To quote: OlliOlli is out now on PS Vita, and it's getting praise from reviewers left and right.

Newcomers might be put off by its simple, yet highly skill-based trick and landing system, but before long the urge to nail longer (And riskier!) combos will keep you glued to your Vita for hours on end.

I've spent about a week with OlliOlli, during which I've picked up a few tricks for maximizing one's scoring potential on any given stage. This list is by no means comprehensive - these are just notes I've taken over the course of the last week. If I've missed anything, or if you've got your own tips, leave 'em in the comments! Oh, and good luck on that Daily Grind.

Timing is everything

From the moment you first boot up OlliOlli, you need to know that timing your landings and grinds properly is integral to not only getting chart-topping scores, but even finishing stages and completing goals.

A perfect grind will actually give you a small boost in speed, which you'll need in a few later stages to clear otherwise impossible...
