PlayStation Store Updates: OlliOlli, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, More

50°
47w ago - Sony's Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store Team is back with this weeks European PSN Game Store updates below, which include OlliOlli, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, and more!

To quote: First up this week, the brilliant OlliOlli, the cracking console debut from the talented team at roll7. It's all about racking up mad combos using a mix of kick flips, grinds and other skateboarding magic, with a ton of challenges and "One more go, I swear!" feels to keep you occupied for a long time.

Just try not to smash your face into the ground because that would ruin your combo. And it's painful. It also has a launch week 20% PS Plus discount.

Elsewhere, gather up that Ki energy and turn Super Saiyan in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z. Poster boy Goku and his friends (Vegeta all the way for me) are joined by new characters from the latest DBZ movie in delicious over the top multiplayer madness. There's only one way to play and that's free-for-all combat.

To top off the week, there's a PS3 demo for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, a cracking bundle for acclaimed platformer Guacamelee!, and a bunch of Final Fantasy titles on discount today, so don't miss them!

250°
73w ago - Sony Producer Kumi Yuasa has shared some new details below today on Destiny of Spirits for PlayStation Vita proclaiming the world unites in battle.

To quote: In our last blog post, we provided an overview of Destiny of Spirits, a PS Vita game launching this year. Today, we're back to share more details about its social aspects.

Destiny of Spirits is a free-to-play, location-based, social strategy game. Players from around the world work cooperatively in turn-based, RPG style action to battle fierce Chaos spirits. The goal? Purify and save the world.

In Destiny of Spirits, friends will make your journey easier. Each day, The Destiny Engine - which is based on Western and Eastern astrology - will lead you to other players that the engine selects as compatible, based on a number of factors including birthday, name, and location.

You'll greet each day with new suggestions for allies across the world, and the more friends you have, the more benefits you can gain! The gameplay really opens up once you have friends. And working together with people across the world will affect how you strategically interact with Destiny of Spirits.

Trading Spirits

Spirits are unique to certain geographical locations around the globe. However, you can trade spirits...

CCP Games: Dust 514 PS3: Suit Up & Roll Out with New Battle Kits

100°
73w ago - CCP Games developer CCP Sentinel announced today that PS3 fans can suit up and roll out with new Dust 514 Battle Kits.

To quote: In DUST 514, a massively multiplayer free-to-play first-person shooter exclusive to PlayStation 3, you can build an empire, wage war on a galactic scale and change the notorious sci-fi universe of EVE Online forever. But you can't do it without the right gear.

As an immortal mercenary, you'll want to outfit your battle clones with the best dropsuits, weapons, enhancements and equipment to suit your fighting style.

The customization options are nearly endless and with a galactic battlefield that's constantly shifting, you'll need to experiment with the latest military tech to maximize your performance.

One of the best ways to test out new gear in DUST 514 is with a newly offered Featured Fit. These fully-fitted dropsuit and vehicle setups are custom-made by our designers to showcase the combat advantages of individual races, weapons, defensive strategies and more.

Featured Fits are ready to go and don't require any skill training to equip, so Mercs can use them without burning through hard-earned Skill Points. Just slot them onto your character of choice, and hop into battle.

This week we have two Featured Fits...

Sony Announces Zeus and Isaac Join the Battle Royale Today

50°
91w ago - Sony Santa Monica Studio Lead Game Designer Seth Killian has announced that both Zeus and Isaac Join the Battle Royale today!

To quote: Just stopping by today with a quick reminder that Zeus and Isaac Clarke are live today for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, along with our new stage "Graveyard"!

Graveyard mashes up MediEvil's zombies, mausoleums, and gargoyles with elements from The Unfinished Swan, revealed via ink splats after a mid-game whiteout. It looks great and keeps the fighting honest, with a medium-width playfield and zombies that will earn you AP when destroyed.

Zeus plays as a legendary heavyweight, making each strike feel epic. He's got limited range, but with the ability to power up every attack merely by holding down the button, he can crush a cowardly opponent's guard and build AP faster than anyone.

Many of his triangle lightning attacks are also excellent at catching multiple opponents for an even faster ride towards his truly Olympian level 3 super.

Isaac Clarke is at his best harassing opponents from mid-range, with a wide variety of projectiles powered up by his unique Stasis and Kinesis powers. He's no slouch at close range either, with some mighty melee attacks and the short-range force gun, but he shines brightest harassing...

50°
96w ago - Sony Santa Monica Studio Lead Game Designer Seth Killian announced that Kat and Emmet join the Battle Royale today, and will be free for two weeks!

Below are the details, as follows: We're happy to follow up [Register or Login to view links]'s win for "Best Fighting Game" at the DICE Awards (the awards where all of the voting is done by other games industry pros), with a gift to all the players that have supported the project from the start.

I hear from a lot of you guys, and I know you've been waiting patiently... but that wait ends today! We've got two new PlayStation All-Stars joining the Battle Royale: Kat from Gravity Rush, and Emmett Graves from Starhawk.

Any fighting fan will tell you how much it means to have new characters joining a game, but it's even better because - as promised - these DLC characters are totally free for two weeks!

Wait, "free for two weeks" sounds funny... Does that mean if I download them, after two weeks is up I have to pay? Nope. You have a two week window to download the DLC. If you do, the characters are yours free, forever and ever. You can play them online, offline, upside...
