50°
112w ago - Sony PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Cade Peterson has shared some launch video footage today announcing that Assassin's Creed III and ACIII Liberation arrive tomorrow with PlayStation exclusives!

To quote: The time has come, PlayStation Assassins! We are very pleased to announce that both Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed III Liberation will be available tomorrow on PS3 and PS Vita, respectively.

To celebrate, we'd first like to draw your attention to our Assassin's Creed III launch trailer, which you can watch below!

As an exciting bonus for our PlayStation Assassins, PS3 players will get day-one access to four exclusive missions at no extra cost.

The bonus missions cover one of the most dastardly betrayals in American history: the treachery of Benedict Arnold! We don't want to give too much away, but fortunately we have a trailer that goes over a few key details...

Starting tomorrow afternoon with the PlayStation Store update, PS3 owners will be able to download the four PlayStation-exclusive missions (note: you may have to play up to a certain progress point in the main game in order to actually access them).

To redeem the content, access the...

Video: Assassin's Creed III Liberation's Touch Controls in Action

50°
112w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has posted up a video today showcasing Assassin's Creed III Liberation's touch controls in action on PlayStation Vita below.

To quote: A bit of advice for Assassin's Creed fans: get some sleep this weekend. Come Tuesday, you'll get to immerse yourself in the Revolutionary mythology of Assassin's Creed III both at home and on the go.

If you've been keeping up with our coverage of Aveline de Grandpre's portable adventure, you're likely already aware of Assassin's Creed III Liberation's open-world gameplay, its crossover with the PS3's Assassin's Creed III, and it's PS Vita-specific features.

But showing is better than telling, so have a look at some of Liberation's (optional) touch controls in action, as AC3L Writer Richard Farreese tells us how the team adapted the series' new control scheme to PS Vita. Spoiler: they didn't have to change much.

You're forgiven for gawking at that Crystal White PS Vita. I haven't washed my hands since we recorded that footage. Assassin's Creed III Liberation arrives this Tuesday alongside Assassin's Creed III, both in stores and via PlayStation Network.

Boston, New York, and the Frontier in Assassin's Creed III for PS3

50°
112w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has scouted locations today including Boston, New York, and the Frontier in Assassin's Creed III for PS3.

To quote: Part of Assassin's Creed III's ample appeal lies in its fastidious recreation of Revolutionary War-era America, a time of great uncertainty and even greater promise.

Developer [Register or Login to view links] has gone to considerable lengths to accurately recreate historic locations across the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, referring to era maps and historians in order to bolster the game's authenticity.

We recently spoke with lead designer Steve Masters and creative director Alex Hutchinson to learn more about the game's slavish attention to detail in recreating late 18th century colonial America. Enjoy!

"In Boston, you'll see a lot of places you could see today, from the old statehouse to Fenway Market to a pub called the [Register or Login to view links]. Using maps from the era, we recreated Boston at a 1:3 scale, including a lot of the surrounding countryside with towns like Lexington and Concord."

Video: Assassin's Creed III: Expose Benedict Arnold Exclusively on PS3

50°
113w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has posted up a new video trailer today announcing that fans will be able to expose Benedict Arnold exclusively on PS3 in Assassin's Creed III.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links]'s secret plot to betray West Point and sabotage the American Revolution earned him the ultimate mark of infamy: a name that will forevermore be synonymous with deceit and treachery.

And on October 30th, the most reviled turncoat in American history will be virtually resurrected in Assassin's Creed III to pay his dues once more - but only on PlayStation 3.

The PS3-exclusive four-mission arc begins with a special request from [Register or Login to view links] in exposing a rumored plot to overthrow West Point, a critical link in the defense of the Colonies against Great Britain.

Across four missions, Connor will flush out Loyalist spies and work undercover for Benedict Arnold, culminating in a full-blown assault on West Point that Connor must halt at all costs.

We reached out to Assassin Creed III scriptwriter Matt Turner to learn more about what's in store for PS3 players on October 30th.
