301w ago - The well respected Peter Molyneux has declared much love for Sony's LittleBigPlanet.

He declared the game had outstanding creative vision, and is one of the defining titles on the PS3 console nominating it as most creative innovation of 2008.

To quote: Peter Molyneux, head of Microsoft's Lionhead studio, has nominated Sony's LittleBigPlanet as the most important creative innovation of 2008, in C&binet's review of the creative economy in 2008.

C&binet - the Creative and Business International Network - is a forum for business and creative leaders to come together, and includes Microsoft's J Allard, Channel 4's Andy Duncan and Spencer Hyman of Last.fm among its ambassadors.

"LittleBigPlanet has outstanding creative vision. It's from a British start-up studio and is one of the defining titles on Japan's Sony PS3," said Molyneux.

Which Year Was The Best Year in Gaming: 2007 or 2008?

250°
303w ago - Another year has passed and in 2009 promises an amazing round of games from each platform and we are likely to see mobile phone gaming finally crack the North American market (whether it is through a Symbian, RIM, Windows Mobile, Apple, or Andriod powered phone), but before we can look to 2009 we have to evaluate 2008 and see how it matches up to the so-called Best Year of Gaming; 2007.

2007 was a year where there was no shortage of quality on any platform. With the DS sporting heavy hitters like Zelda, Puzzle Quest, Hotel Dusk, and Contra 4, the PC reclaimed top honors with amazing experiences like Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, and Crysis, but the Xbox 360 was the platform that took the crown with some of the PC offerings as well as it crown jewel, Halo 3.

Not to be discounted, the Sony platforms could not be forgotten either with titles like Uncharted, God of War 2 and Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. With such a heavy field of courter vying for our attention, who could deny that 2007 WAS the "Best Year in Gaming" however, 2008 was not to be out done.
2008 was touted as "The Year of the PS3".

Sony's flagship console bared all with Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Turismo 5 Prologue, Resistance 2, SOCOM (aka SO-CRACK): Confrontation, and LittleBigPlanet as well as the shared titles with the Xbox...

GameSpot's 2008 Game of the Year is Metal Gear Solid 4

304w ago - GameSpot's list of finalists calls out the top 10 games of 2008 on all platforms. This year's deliberations weren't easy; there were so many fantastic games of exceptional quality that simply cutting down a list to 10 finalists was a difficult task on its own.

Making the top 10 list is definitely an accomplishment in itself, a nod to 10 games that stood out among a banner year's worth of outstanding games of all genres and on all platforms.

And yes, determining the single winner for Game of the Year 2008 was even tougher. But determine a winner we did.
