Ubisoft Details Asphalt: Injection - Fueling the Fire on PS Vita

100°
140w ago - Ubisoft PR Specialist Alex Monney has shared details today on Asphalt: Injection, which will be fueling the fire on PlayStation Vita consoles next month!

To quote: Personally, I think racing games shine on handheld devices. Think of it this way: you're commuting home from work and sitting on a bus or a train.

Though your progress may be pokey, your mind is completely focused on the blistering competition between your Bugatti Super Sport and everyone else on the track.

For that short time, you completely forget about your commute. So, if your mind works like mine, you should definitely be excited for the arcade racing action of Asphalt: Injection.

Asphalt: Injection boasts ten game modes spanning the tried-and-true Race mode to more signature game modes including Cop Chase and Beat 'Em All (focused on take downs).

This, along with 20 different leagues to conquer and multiplayer via local and Wifi, will keep handheld racing fans entertained for a long time.

[Register or Login to view links] has also leveraged the unique features of PS Vita to create an easily accessible and social game. Asphalt: Injection has six different control schemes that take advantage of the dual analog sticks, the rear touch screen, or the accelerometer.

Video: Arc System Works Details BlazBlue for PlayStation Vita

100°
140w ago - Today Arc System Works Director Geraint Evans has shared a video detailing everything fans would want to know about BlazBlue for PlayStation Vita!

To quote: With the PS Vita launch just around the corner - we thought we'd take a look at a series that's built a reputation for itself among fighting aficionados over the last couple of years.

Currently readying itself for a spot on the 22 February launch line up, BlazBlue is a fighter that's proven something of a cult hit - a series that's earned high praise from critics for its left-field approach to fighting but is still perceived in some fighting circles as 'the weird other one'.

Getting stuck into a little Street Fighter or a bit of Tekken from time to time is comforting, familiar - you know your way around the character roster, their moves and abilities. You know where you stand - and we understand that.

BlazBlue, seems scary in comparison. For the uninitiated, gameplay footage looks full-on, intense - like the circus has arrived for a gunfight at a firework factory. It's hard to look beyond the relentless visual assault and understand the fighting game that lies beneath.

So for all you BlazBlue beginners out there...

Dungeon Hunter Alliance Brings Epic Fantasy Journey to PS Vita

250°
140w ago - Today Ubisoft PR Specialist Alex Monney has outlined the epic fantasy journey that Dungeon Hunter Alliance brings to PS Vita.

To quote: Over the next week, Ubisoft will be profiling our upcoming portfolio of launch titles for the PlayStation Vita.

All these titles will be available a week prior to launch, giving gamers the opportunity to build up their library prior to the launch of this highly anticipated PlayStation handheld or experience the games early if you are picking up the First Edition bundle on February 15th. Let's kick off the week by stepping into the fantasy genre.

But first, a question for my fellow PSP launch owners. How much fun was exploring the fantasy world of Untold Legends? I remember going over to my friend's house to sit side-by-side as we tackled different dungeons. With Dungeon Hunter Alliance, we're bringing back that feeling of exploring a fantasy universe along with your friends.

You may already be familiar with the PS3 version of the game, but soon you'll be able to take the experience with you, exploring the depths of Gothicus, facing off against evil creatures, and enhancing your character while you're on the go.

Dungeon Hunter Alliance will also enable PS Vita owners to team up with up to three friends locally and via WiFi –...

Online Features in ModNation Racers: Road Trip for PS Vita

100°
140w ago - Today Product Development Director Erich Waas has shared details on the online features in ModNation Racers: Road Trip for the PS Vita handheld console.

To quote: I wanted to give Mark Wilson a break this week so that I could talk about the robust online features in ModNation Racers: Road Trip.

The team here in San Diego created an impressive list of online functionality to take advantage of the WiFi/3G and GPS functionality. This game is intended to let you take advantage of your road trips--whether they're across the country, to another state or just traveling between home and work or school.

More importantly, ModNation Racers: Road Trip was designed to work around your schedule and let you compete with your friends whenever (and wherever) you want.

1. Competitive Localized Leaderboards

When a gamer who has opted to "Use Location Data" posts a lap time to the Leaderboards, that time is connected to their current location. Gamers can personalize their location names (i.e., My Home, My Work, Mark's House Where I Always Win, etc.) for easy reference. These times become part of the Local Leaderboards which gamers can use to compete in a fun arcade-style atmosphere.

Gamers can also select one of their saved locations and view other competitors'...

PS Vita Hacker SKFU on Uncovering New Security Vulnerabilities

1300°
141w ago - Since reporting on his last flaw uncovered, PlayStation Vita hacker SKFU has found a few new vulnerabilities in Sony's PS Vita handheld gaming system.

To quote via [Register or Login to view links]: Few hours ago, developer SKFU (known for his work on the PS3, but also recently for some investigations on the Vita security) posted a screenshot of his Vita showing some HTML in what is supposed to usually show official messages from Sony’s updates or packages.

Knowing SKFU's passion for everything network-related, I'm assuming he's doing some tests using some local DNS changes... or maybe he managed to put some of his own files in an official package? That would be exciting.

In previous tweets this week, he mentioned he found 2 potentially usable vulnerabilities on the Vita

VITA is back to life, since last tweet found 2 new possibile vulnerabilities. If it runs good, news in blog this evening!

That was, however, 2 days ago, and his blog wasn’t updated since then, so I’m assuming he ran into a few issues. (the “back to life” comment refers to the official...
