    XCM E-Setter & MegaBox for PS3 unveiled!

    50°
339w ago - The nice guys over at www.XCM.cc have shared with us the following info on their new XCM E-Setter as follows:

The E-Setter is a device for people who can easily set up the screen on their TV. Some people may have 2 or more TVs at home: when they want to move the PS3 to play on another TV, they may find it has no picture on another TV.

It is because the output resolution is different on each TV so they can't get the picture, and they have to set the PS3 back to original setting on their current TV before moving to another TV.

Apart from that setting the output of PS3 is so complicated.. almost takes half an hour to do so. The E-Setter is a device for you to set up the output resolution easily, people just need to switch a button and get their set up within a few seconds only.

In related news, today GunPR has shared MegaBox PS3 WIP. It can be installed via Petitboot Bootloader (OS Selector) For PS3, but remember it's only a WIP thus far and lacks HDMI output.

More to come on this soon, and some concept pics are below!

$39.99 Warhawk Disc Without Headset Coming

    50°
341w ago - A Sony Computer Entertainment spokesperson has confirmed to Level Up that sometime later this month, retailers will begin selling a $39.99 SKU of Warhawk that does not include the Bluetooth headset. When the game went on sale in August, two versions were available: a download-only version sold through the Playstation Network for $39.99, and Blu-Ray disc version with a Jabra Bluetooth headset packed in, for $59.99. With this price reduction, the retail and digitally distributed versions of Warhawk now sell for the same price.

We first got wind of a possible stripped down retail SKU for Warhawk on Friday, when, in the course of reporting a separate story, we came across a listing for "Warhawk--Game Only" on GameStop's Web site. The listing says that the $39.99 version will be available on October 10th, but the Sony rep had not been able to confirm that with SCEA's sales department by press time. When asked whether this was indicative of Sony's strategy for future AAA games that are jointly released on PSN and Blu-Ray--i.e. an initial run with a pack-in for $59.99, followed by a standalone Blu-Ray version for $39.99--the rep only said that Sony had no new announcements to make at this time.

We predict that games like SOCOM: Confrontation, where communication is essential, will ship with and without headsets....
