Call of Duty 5 primarily set in Japan

50°
326w ago - We already know that Call of Duty 5 is in the works, and should be released later this year. We also have been informed that Treyarch will be going back to WWII instead of staying put in the Modern Warfare setting Infinity Ward created for the fourth game in the series.

At the time of that revelation many were upset, seeing it as a step back from the great reaction COD4 got from critics and gamers alike.

However, recent info suggests that Treyarch will not be stepping straight back into familiar territory with their upcoming game, and will not be yet again placing the player in a European or American setting. They will instead be taking the battle over to Japan, and will likely put players in the shoes of soldiers who took part in the Pacific Campaign of World War II.

The exact details of where the battles will take place still remain a mystery, but the focus of the CoD5 story will be on their side of the world rather than in Western Europe this time round.

Hopefully recreating the Battle of Iwo Jima along with other memorable battles that formed part of that campaign in virtual form is a possibility. In addition, the change in setting may be just what Treyarch needs to get people interested in their vision of CoD instead of having to continually listen to people complaining IW...

Something new on the PS3 Settings menu coming soon?

400°
328w ago - Don't ask how, but I noticed something different in this picture below.

What's that new icon above 'Game Settings' but underneath 'System Update'?

It looks very similar to the message box icon so could it be 'RSS Feeds Settings' or 'Email Settings'?

Hopefully we will find out in 2.30 coming out next Thursday!

    XCM E-Setter & MegaBox for PS3 unveiled!

    50°
353w ago - The nice guys over at [Register or Login to view links] have shared with us the following info on their new [Register or Login to view links] as follows:

The E-Setter is a device for people who can easily set up the screen on their TV. Some people may have 2 or more TVs at home: when they want to move the PS3 to play on another TV, they may find it has no picture on another TV.

It is because the output resolution is different on each TV so they can't get the picture, and they have to set the PS3 back to original setting on their current TV before moving to another TV.

Apart from that setting the output of PS3 is so complicated.. almost takes half an hour to do so. The E-Setter is a device for you to set up the output resolution easily, people just need to switch a button and get their set up within a few seconds only.

In related news, today GunPR has shared MegaBox PS3 WIP. It can be installed via Petitboot Bootloader (OS Selector) For PS3, but remember it's only a WIP thus far and lacks HDMI output.

More to come on this soon, and some concept pics are below!
