To quote: For today's Zip-Tips, Lead Tester and owner of the world's largest video game t-shirt collection, Jay Embry, walks us through the popular Direct Action class in MAG.
If you're the visual type we have this nifty Direct Action video narrated by Jay himself, followed by his handy tips. Enjoy!
Hello, this is Jay! The Direct Action soldier is invaluable to the team whether they're attacking or defending. If attacking, it's going to be your job to do as much damage as possible to key defensible points -- like using your rockets to take out Defensive Emplacement Turrets.
If defending, it's the Direct Action guy's job to keep key defense objectives up and running or out of enemy hands all together. Here are some specific tips to help you be the most effective Direct Action soldier you can be.
• To be Direct Action, the most obvious step is to make sure you have a heavy machine gun in your loadout.
• Keep some kind of demolition gear with you...
174w ago - Zipper Interactive Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham is back with news of both a version 1.02 update patch and a video highlighting some MAG Commando PS3 developer tips today.
To quote: Today we have a one-two punch in MAG news as we offer up our latest developer tips along with the specifics of the our next downloadable patch that will hit servers tomorrow, February 17.
First, the patch. MAG, v1.02 has a consistent theme -- Medical Support. After taking your feedback into consideration and playing countless games ourselves, we've made a number of Field Support adjustments that should help you steer through the battlefield more effectively. These fixes will also clean things up for players of other classes who don't have a need to see who is hurt and who isn't.
To be specific, we've eliminated the onscreen medic icon from anyone who has a Medical Kit and have instead changed it so that only those who have the Resuscitation Kit sport the cross.
Moreover, we've also hidden "incapacitated" icons for downed players from everyone but those who can help them -- cleaning up the screen quite considerably -- and have added in some distance counters so that you know how far you have to travel before arriving at the injured.

175w ago - Here comes the fouth video installment in the MAG PlayStation 3 developer tips series, dubbed Domination, by Zipper Interactive Sr. Community Manager Jeremy Dunham.
To quote: What's up MAG fans? For today's jaunt into the world of first-person tactics, Zipper's Chief Software Architect and Ultimate Frisbee lover, Nate Klee, tells how it's done on the 256-player mayhem that is our Domination mode.
Watch the brief preparatory movie below and look for Nate's tips after it's done.
Hello, this is Nate and these Domination tips will help you achieve your best.
The goal of the attackers in Domination is to destroy a rival PMC's oil facility in 3 phases. Each attacking platoon first needs to simultaneously grab control of two burn-off towers. Once these are both held, they are destroyed and can't be repaired.
Destroying these towers also unlocks a pair of cooling towers which operate in a similar fashion. Once those are taken out, the attackers move in to take over oil pump controls and destroy the facility. The more pumps that are held, the faster you can damage the facility.
The goal for the defenders is to keep the facility...
