Video: Sony Previews FirstPlay - Episode 4 for PlayStation 3

50°
243w ago - Associate Editor Nathan Ditum shared a video preview today of FirstPlay - Episode 4 for PlayStation 3 which is slated to arrive this Thursday via PSN.

To quote: It's Nathan here from FirstPlay with a heads up on this week's episode, which will be on the [Register or Login to view links]from Thursday as usual, unless that dream I had where all our PlayStations grew tiny legs and ran away comes true. Then we might be delayed a week.

This week we're mostly drooling over HD footage of Gran Turismo 5, with a little break for gazing into the future PlayStation Move, and slicing up some fools in the name of national security in Alpha Protocol.

We've also got our regular deluge of Network Highlights, featuring a guide to not losing horribly with Super Street Fighter IV's new scrappers, and an army of screenshots galleries, including SOCOM IV and Medal Of Honor.

As ever, this is all yours for just 99p, or even less if you sign up for a 90-day subscription.

One last thing - the brilliant crew over on the official EU forums have created a new FirstPlay section for us. Myself and the team will be in there as often as possible to avoid work answer any questions, and it's the easiest way to...

LittleBigPlanet 2 is Unofficially Revealed for Sony's PlayStation 3

250°
244w ago - Just under a month ago we got our first hint, and this weekend electronic musician Ochre announced via Twitter that he has licensed a song called "Infotain Me" to Sony for LittleBigPlanet 2, the sequel which is being developed for Sony's PlayStation 3.

While Sony hasn't officially announced LittleBigPlanet 2 yet, it is apparently indeed on the way.

To quote: "We did previously hear about something called LittleBigPlanet Motion, which uses the PlayStation Move controller to manipulate the environment.

But it isn't clear if that is LittleBigPlanet 2, downloadable content for the first game, or something different entirely.

IGN requested comment from Sony but received the usual "Sony does not comment on rumors and speculation" business."

Sony Unveils First 3D Games for PS3, No 3D Blu-ray in June

650°
244w ago - Today TechRadar.com (linked above) received word from Sony Computer Entertainment of the first 3D games that will be arriving for the PS3 entertainment system, and also news that the rumored June PlayStation 3 Firmware update won't include Blu-ray 3D support.

The PS3 titles already confirmed are Wipeout HD, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD... all slated to be released through PSN the same day the 3D TVs, the Bravia LED LCD HX803 range, launches.

To quote: "The PlayStation 3 will eventually get 3D Blu-ray compatibility but this is to come in the form of another firmware update later in the year.

While it's great that Sony will be offering 3D for free on the PS3, the delay of 3D Blu-ray on the console will be a blow to those PS3 owners looking to buy a 3D TV and save money on not purchasing a 3D Blu-ray player."
