241w ago - Today SCEE Community Lead Alex Weekes has unveiled a new PlayStation Home Square and Shopping Centre.

To quote: Today, we're pleased to announce that this Thursday we cut the ribbon and open the brand new Home Square and Shopping Centre!

We're really excited about finally releasing the new spaces, where we'll be able to bring you, the community that makes PlayStationHome what it is, exciting new experiences.

So read on to find out more about the completely revamped spaces and new content housed within them: there's so much I'm not quite sure where to start...

We'll kick off with the harbour-side Home Square, where you'll find plenty of exciting new attractions. Joining existing buildings - such as the cinema and bowling alley - you'll find all-new mini-games including Supa-Fun Robo-Goalie Time!!, a game where you will be put on the spot to kick home penalty shots past an increasingly skilful robot goalie.

Towards the harbour frontage you'll find a video screen topped by a scrolling news ticker, where you'll be able to find out all the latest goings-on in Home. Video: PlayStation Move E3 2010 Sony PS3 Tech Demo Arrives

200°
242w ago - Today IGN has posted up a PlayStation Move Sony PS3 tech demo from E3 2010 which can be seen below alongside a Kung Fu Rider PlayStation Move video.

As recently revealed, the PlayStation Move motion controller features an orb at the head which can glow in any of a full range of colors using RGB light-emitting diodes (LEDs).

The colored light serves as an active marker, the position of which can be tracked along the image plane by the PlayStation Eye.

The uniform spherical shape and known size of the light also allows the system to simply determine the controller's distance from the PlayStation Eye through the light's image size, thus enabling the controller's position to be tracked in three dimensions with high precision and accuracy.

The sphere-based distance calculation allows the controller to operate with minimal processing latency, as opposed to other camera-based control techniques on the PlayStation 3.

Those interested can check out the PlayStation Move E3 2010 Sony PS3 tech demo and a Kung Fu Rider PlayStation Move video below!

Sony PlayStation Hints on New Hardware Revealed at E3 2010

500°
242w ago - The Electronic Entertainment Expo is set to begin this week, and according to Sony's [Register or Login to view links] site they are set to reveal new hardware at this year's conference.

Excluding the PlayStation Motion Controller, it is more likely a PSP2 may be revealed this year over the recently rumored PS4.

To quote: "According to the official Sony E3 site, Sony will showcase new hardware on Tuesday: E3 2010 is coming! Meet us here to see what awesome games and hardware is being revealed!

While some speculate a PSP2 announcement from Sony is a possibility, the best bet right now would be another revision of the current PSP hardware with a design more akin to that of the PSPGo or the hardware simply being the Move controller.

Sony is set to take stage at E3 in just over 2-days, so we'll know for certain then."
