Worst European PlayStation Store Update Ever?

500°
342w ago - Update: A French Sony representative lets us know that last week was their week off and so they had nothing set up for this week, which is perfectly fine. Therefore, this weeks European update is only what they had hanging around, making our title a tad unkind.

It looks as though the European and Australian stores are going to be pretty empty this week. Their friends across the water had a New Years break, and perhaps it is their turn for a little rest. It certainly looks like it.

Can we blame them? They brought us 3 gems last week - a Super Stardust HD demo and upgrade, The Club demo and a new PSN game, Snakeball.

The Australian Store has already been updated, and reports from the French Playstation forum suggests that the same meager offerings are on their way to Europe also.

Sony considering a subscription service for the PlayStation store?

50°
342w ago - Sony is running a survey over in Asia where a question on the list asks "Which of the following offer from PLAYSTATIONStore (PC) that you find it appealing?".

One of the selectable answers is "Monthly subscription plan (1 price for unlimited download)."

While this is far from concrete information, we welcome the idea of PSPTap. If a user can spend $5 or $10 to get unlimited access to a library of downloadable PsOne Classics and a handful of PSP originals like Beats many would do it in a heartbeat.

PlayStation Store Cards Already in the Wild!

50°
343w ago - Any of you lot spot the new PSN cards in stores yet?

Aerfox has, as he's spotted them already for sale in stores on the US Army base in Aberdeen, Maryland. Early 2008 indeed.

Aerfox notes that the $20 cards are the only ones as yet on offer, and picked one up as a Christmas present for, well, we'll just presume himself.
