Festival of Hearts Comes to Free Realms via PSN Tomorrow

50°
133w ago - Today Producer Jose Araiza has announced that Festival of Hearts is coming to Free Realms via PSN tomorrow, with the details below as follows:

Nothing says love more than the Stone Abomination right? No?

Oh... well... that's probably because you have yet to hear the tale behind the Festival of Hearts in Free Realms. Sure, everyone knows that Festival of Hearts celebrates love, but not many know the tale of how the festival originated. This is a tale of love that transcends time, and has been retold from generation to generation all around the land.

Long ago, two young pixies - Rylan and Arianna - met while adventuring in the place we now call Merry Vale. Upon first glance, they were smitten with each other and planted a flower together at the spot where they first met.

The two young pixies vowed to see each other every day, meeting near their flower in Merry Vale. Every time they met, Rylan would bring a present to his sweetheart; sometimes flowers or chocolates, other times balloons or hand-printed poems. Their romance was the stuff of legend, until...

But I'd better not spoil the fun. I'll let you guys find out for yourselves starting February 7th! Log into [Register or Login to view links] and find out what happens to these two lovebirds....

TikGames: The Making of Stick Man Rescue, Hits PSN Tomorrow

100°
135w ago - Today Howard Lehr at TikGames has shared details on the making of Stick Man Rescue, which will be hitting fans on PSN tomorrow.

To quote: Stick Man Rescue was born of a conversation with my 12-year old son, Colin. He had just discovered the freeware Pivot Stick Figure Animator and, like any 12-year-old boy would, he was using it to make hilarious death animations.

Given that game designers are perpetual 12-year-olds at heart, I joined in. This prompted visits to various stick man death websites which provided a surprisingly long-lasting source of giggles that attracted my younger son. Soon the three of us were pondering how to make stick deaths into a video game.

Dusting off my rusty programming and non-existent art skills, I co-opted my kids to start making animated gifs of stick deaths and created a prototype game bent on seeing how many of our most ridiculous ideas could be worked into it.

So, I had a prototype as you can see, but had a long way to go to turn it into something that could be useful for a real game design.

Working at a publisher and developer like [Register or Login to view links] has its advantages. First, there are a bunch of talented people around to help hone ideas into something that works. I enlisted the help of Adrian Ludley,...

50°
137w ago - Creat Studios Marketing Coordinator Rob Banahan has confirmed that starting tomorrow Mecho Wars will be available on PS3 through PSN, and will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.

To quote: I speak for the whole team when I say that we are incredibly excited about our latest game to hit PSN, the minis title Mecho Wars for $4.99.

Based on the characters, world, and distinctive visual style crafted by [Register or Login to view links], Mecho Wars is a turn-based strategy game where you command your troops to expand into enemy territory, control and collect resources, and conquer your enemy's structures.

The story of Mecho Wars details the rise of the Winged Crusade in the distant land of Divination Deserts, in a war between the Winged Crusade and the Landians. This is not your typical desert: there is plenty of water that separates land masses.

To sustain your army, you'll need to capture factories to expand your maximum army support, take over cities to earn gold from the rich economic hubs, and defeat the enemy by capturing their HQ building while simultaneously defending your own.

Don't forget strategic unit composition and troop positioning as each unit type has its own strengths and weaknesses. Mecho Wars features a day/night...

200°
145w ago - MonkeyPaw Games Marketing Manager Ray Almeda has announced today that BurgerTime World Tour will be serving up retro evolution on PSN tomorrow.

To quote: It's been 29 years since [Register or Login to view links] hit arcades, but there's still there's a legion of fans waiting for a modern revival of one of the tastiest puzzle games ever.

BurgerTime World Tour isn't just BurgerTime with HD graphics; it's a maturation of the arcade classic with evolved elements and platform features that make for a whole new game. BurgerTime World Tour has been re-built from the ground up on a rotating cylindrical 3D world upon which you build your burgers from top to bottom.

Follow famed burger chef Peter Pepper as he traverses four different culinary countries (New York, Paris, Mexico, and Tokyo) and creates giant burgers while dodging zany condiments and frenetic foods like Frank Furter, the splenetic sausage or Sonny, the indelible edible egg.

Peter Pepper will have his way with these ingredients as he drops burger pieces onto them to include them in the burger (bonus points and custom burgers!), flips them off the screen with a tornado spatula attack, or engulfs them with flames...
