Halfbrick Announces Age of Zombies is Out Today on PS Vita

50°
27w ago - Halfbrick Community Coordinator James Schultz announced that Age of Zombies is out today on PS Vita.

Below are the details, to quote: Hey guys, James here from Halfbrick. I hope you're feeling fresh and re-energized for the year ahead!

Today, we're pleased to announce the U.S. launch of Age of Zombies for PS Vita. We're super excited about this, and I think you'll agree that BlitWorks has done an incredible job taking Age of Zombies to a whole new level of awesomeness on PS Vita.

It's been almost four years since Age of Zombies was first released as a PS Mini, but despite a wealth of improvements and updates, there's always been one thing missing: physical twin stick controls. That all changed with the launch of PS Vita, and we've finally found the perfect device to capture the sheer joys of blasting zombies on the go.

So, what's the game all about? Glad you asked! Age of Zombies was the first game to star wise-cracking hero Barry Steakfries, who many of you will know as the main character from Monster Dash and Jetpack Joyride. It's a crazy, hilarious, and over-the-top adventure. And it features time travel, romance, and a whole lot more.

The evil Professor Brains has sent hordes of undead to the farthest reaches of time, and it's up to you to save the day....

Video: OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita Drops in on January 21st, 2014

27w ago - Roll7 Director Tom Hegarty posted up a video today announcing that OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita drops in on January 21st, 2014.

To quote: We've finally finished OlliOlli, and what's even better, we now have a release date: January 21st!

As you may know, this our first PS Vita game, so it's been a big challenge for us - a challenge that's been well worth it (and we hope you'll think so, too). We originally planned to launch before the holiday, but due to some technical issues we had to push back.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who patiently supported us throughout 2013, including fans, press, and all the crew at PlayStation - especially Shahid and Spencer.

Now that we're on the path to releasing OlliOlli into the wild, it seems pertinent to give you the final details about all four modes and the game's Trophies (in case you didn't see them when they accidentally leaked last month)!

Career Mode: 50 deviously handcrafted levels split between Amateur and Pro. The further you progress, the more accuracy and timing you'll need to reach the adoring crowd at the end of each run.

Each level has five challenges, including Combo and Score attacks, and is linked to its own global leaderboard. Think you can get that number one spot?...

The Audio of Road Not Taken for PS4 and PlayStation Vita Detailed

50°
28w ago - Audio Producer Daniel Simmons shared details today on the audio of Road Not Taken for PS4 and PlayStation Vita below.

To quote: We recently added the first batch of sounds to Road Not Taken, and the team got really excited, like the game was finally coming together!

It's funny because it was such a small thing in relation to the huge amount of work that has already gone into the game, but it really highlights the difference sound can make in the way we experience things.

The world of Road Not Taken is made up of magical and natural surroundings. That makes me happy, because even though I love the bleeps and bloops you can get from synthesis, my favorite way to make sounds is from scratch like a [Register or Login to view links].

It just so happened that I started working on the RNT audio catalog in the fall, right when there were piles of dried leaves everywhere - perfect! I brought a bucket of them inside and rustled them, crunched and dropped them... my studio was a mess!

Also, if you listen closely to the [Register or Login to view links], you can hear some percussion that was made from dry sticks. At the time I was at a cottage on vacation with my family, so I used a...

Video: King Oddball Ends The World Launches on PS Vita Today

50°
28w ago - 10tons PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi shared a fresh video announcing that King Oddball Ends The World launches on PS Vita today.

To quote: Greetings from still miraculously snowless Finland, PlayStation Blog readers! This week 10tons is back with another game to PS Vita, and what a game it is.

I'm quite frankly not sure what to say about King Oddball. Or, King Oddball Ends the World, as the full name goes in all its glory. The game is a bit peculiar, you see. You're probably better off trying the free trial.

While it's technically true that King Oddball falls in the same physics-based puzzle category as Angry Birds, the fruitfulness of the comparison doesn't last long. Sure, you lob objects at things in both games, but that's largely as far as the similarities go.

First of all, King Oddball is a bit weird. What the heck the titular main character even is? What is he a king of? Why is his tongue so absurdly long and stretchy? Why is he in such a foul mood? Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is the eccentric art style and accordion-heavy soundtrack fit the game perfectly.

Gameplay-wise, and this is probably the part everyone is the most interested in, King Oddball is equally uncommon:...

PlayStation Plus: Urban Trial Freestyle Free on PS Vita for Members

50°
28w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer announced that Urban Trial Freestyle is free on PS Vita for Members as part of this weeks PlayStation Plus updates below.

To quote: It's officially 2014, and if you checked out our preview post and video last month you'll know that means mega awesome titles are coming soon! Tomorrow our Plus members will be able to download both Don't Starve on PlayStation 4 and DMC Devil May Cry on PlayStation 3.

Don't Starve is deceptively cute, so don't be fooled, this is a hardcore survival simulator. You (as a Gentleman Scientist) will need to gather, hunt and build in order to stay alive in this mysterious land.

DmC Devil May Cry refreshes the story of Dante and gives him a bit of a makeover, but the combat is still as action-packed as you'd expect from a DMC title. Dante still packs his pistols Ebony & Ivory as well as his blade Rebellion, and you'll have to switch back and forth from Angel and Demon mode in order to rack up your massive combos.

You can download Don't Starve and DmC Devil May Cry as well as take advantage of all these PS Plus discounts after the PlayStation Store updates tomorrow, 1/7.
