Rumor: Home is coming very soon, in-game XMB done!

336w ago - sev1512 claims to have some insider access to a variety of news relating to PS3 Home and in-game XMB features. He says that PSedge dev kits released an update and the new Home libraries were introduced.

It is claimed that a game must be able to integrate into Home and a game must be able to support accomplishments. Moreover, every game that is coming out soon now supports in-game XMB and those already out will have to be patched. All in all Home is said to be very close as well as in-game XMB.

To quote: Anyways, very exciting stuff happened on Monday (The one that just past). The PSedge dev kits, recieved an update. So whatever, we take a look, and the major addition, was that the TRC's were updated, and the new HOME libraries were brought in.

What does this mean? A TRC is a checklist of things a game must have for Sony to approve, in order for them to give the "Go-Ahead" on releasing the game on their console. This checklist has things like: Can't crash, Load times under 10 seconds, and things like that.

Two new ones were added: A game must be able to integrate into Home, a game must support "Accomplishments". Right there, two important things, the PS3 system for achievements is called "Accomplishments", and Home is coming out VERY VERY VERY Soon.

Then, we...

Sony: PS3 In-Game XMB Being Worked On

50°
347w ago - When the 2.0 firmware update for PS3 was finally released, many users were disappointed over the fact that the update did not include in-game XMB access as originally expected.

The good news is that we still may see in-game XMB packed in a future firmware update according to Sony marketing VP Peter Dille, to quote from the link above:

As far as in-game XMB access, we know it's a feature that's important to our consumers. Because PS3 packs so much advanced technology "under the hood," it takes some time to implement major, new functionalities, but we are working hard on addressing this feature, as well as continually expand the capabilities and functionalities of PS3.

We expect firmware updates to continue in 2008 and throughout the product's lifecycle as new technologies and enhancements become available.

350w ago - This is the secret project I'm working on. It's still in its very early stages and I intend on working on it more but I have little but minutes to spend on it each day.

I made THIS IMAGE deceiving for reason, check it out now and see how advanced those Icons were for day two of released firmware 2.0.

Well anyways, its gonna be improved more and more as to how I see the REAL XMB_2.0 should look and feel, and I'll keep you informed as it comes along. Just extract this file to any location and run either the swf, or exe which ever you prefer.

XMB_2.0_BETA(0.5.0.3)_EXE.rar / XMB_2.0_BETA(0.5.0.3)_SWF.rar

P.S. Those of you smart enough might also realize this doubles as a tester program for your XMB_Themes ;-)

THIS IS JUST TO GET THIS OUT THERE BEFORE $ONY DOES, cause then all my work would have been in vain.
