The Legend of Dragoon: PS1 RPG Classic Reborn May 1st on PSN

300°
120w ago - SCE Worldwide Studios President Shu Yoshida has announced today that the PS1 RPG classic The Legend of Dragoon is coming to PSN on May 1, 2012.

To quote: The Legend of Dragoon was one of the last projects I worked on as a producer in Japan Studio and by far the biggest team I managed hands-on.

We started the project in 1996 with only a handful of people, hired one by one as we were building up teams for Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, and Ico simultaneously. During the peak of the game's development, we had well over 100 people working internally in the studio on The Legend of Dragoon - for a PSone game!

We had roughly 10 artists dedicated just to drawing concept art for this gigantic RPG. As the game contained lots of pre-rendered maps and full-motion videos, we were forced to spread the content over four CDs, which was the maximum number of discs that the fattest PSone game case could hold.

It took nearly three years to build the team and develop the game, which was released in December 1999 in Japan and June 2000 in the US. As I moved from Japan to the US in March 2000, I was able to personally handle the game's release in both Japan and the US.

Following the game's launch in Japan, we learned from players that certain parts of the game were too difficult....

120w ago - Today Jawad Ashraf PS Store Team has posted up this weeks European PSN updates outlined below, as follows:

Episodes from Liberty City heads its way onto the PS Store on this fine sunny day*. This includes both expansions (The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) and won't require the original GTAIV disc.

For PlayStation Vita we now have Stardrone Extreme, a game that I can only describe as really, really colorful!

There is a varied bunch of DLC content today, too from Dynasty Warriors 7 to Uncharted 3. Yep, Uncharted 3 has a new set of maps available today for you fortune hunting folk out there. Nothing like running around on the streets of London, eh?

Gilgamesh also travels through time to say hello and then proceed to make your life difficult in a new coliseum battle for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Noel gets his outfit from Assassin's Creed and Serah gets her outfit designed by a member from AKB48, a Japanese group so big both in members and popularity.

The Journey soundtrack today is also being released today, too. A game praised for its music, I am sure this will go down a treat for some.

We've also got a bit of a sale going on for various Tom Clancy titles. More information will be detailed courtesy of Andy soon but, you'll be able...

Grab Your PlayStation Vita, Free Escape Plan Update is Now Live!

200°
120w ago - Following up on the previous update, today Fun Bits Interactive Team Lead Chris Millar has announced that the free Escape Plan ppdate is now live for PlayStation Vita owners!

To quote: Today, Escape Plan owners will be happy to see new content popping up on their Vita for download.

The first pack, Bakuki's Lair, is a FREE level pack that adds 19 prequel-puzzle rooms to the adventures of Lil and Laarg. To download the levels, just update the game from Escape Plan's LiveArea directly on your PS Vita.

Fans of Escape Plan have helped push the game into the #1 spot on PSN worldwide, and so we're happy to report that we are improving the experience with a handful of adjustments that were requested directly from gamers.

Players can now squeeze Lil while swiping, front and back taps are more precise, earning stars is just based on time and there are some more hints in sticky situations.

Our plan for Escape Plan is to continue supporting fans and community worldwide by growing the game and updating the title with new features. If you haven't yet picked up Escape Plan, it's available now on PSN for $14.99.
