Namco Releases Update For Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online

341w ago - A new, downloadable update for Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online is now available for download via the PlayStation Store, Namco Bandai announced today.

In addition to addressing a number of bugs, the update adds a host of all-new features, notably including full support for Dual Shock 3 rumble controllers and a Pickup Match Mode which allows players to continuously face off in one-on-one matches.

A detailed list of the changes included in the update can be found below.

* Pickup Match Mode - For those who want to skip the waiting room, players can now continuously face off in one-on-one matches

* DUALSHOCK®3 rumble support - Feel the impact of each blow and attack

* Room name display - Allows users to input and display names for online rooms

* "Flag" search - A network filter that enables users to better select opponents with optimal connection speeds

* New notifications - Let's waiting players know when it's their turn to fight or inform them when others have entered or left the room

* More casual matches - When Rank Match is set to Off, match results no longer affect Win/Loss record.

* Multiple bug issues have also been resolved
 

PS3 Firmware 2.30 Update Now Available!

341w ago - Update: Several users are reporting that they are now unable to sign in anymore with PS3 Proxy, receiving error 8002A212.

Additionally, the only changes in 2.30 per Sony are a Redesigned PLAYSTATION®Store, Blu-ray Disc playback now supports DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio output- noting the PS3 system does not support playback of DTS-ES and DTS 96/24 for DVD-Video or DTS-ES Matrix for Blu-ray Discs.

Confirmed: Home is not part of PS3 Firmware 2.30 update

341w ago - According to a Sony rep, PS3 Firmware 2.30 (that will accompany the launch of the new PlayStation Store) will not contain PlayStation Home despite what rumors suggest.

To quote: Noel Silvia replied on April 14, 2008 at 12:27 pm

Despite what some rumour mongers would like for you to believe, no, Home is NOT a part of this update.

And so the wait continues...
 

PlayStation Store down most of tomorrow for PS Store update

342w ago - The PLAYSTATION Network will be taken offline for a scheduled maintenance to the network on April 14th between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

As a result there will be no access to the PLAYSTATION Store.

To quote: The PLAYSTATION®Network will be taken offline for a scheduled maintenance to our network during the following times:

Start: April 14, 2008, beginning at 8:00 a.m., Pacific Time
End: April 14, 2008, ending at 11:00 p.m., Pacific Time

During this time, the new PLAYSTATION®Store upgrade will be taking place. As a result access to the PLAYSTATION Network will be restricted, including:

* No access to the PLAYSTATION®Store

For information regarding the changes to the PLAYSTATION Store, please visit the PlayStation.Blog.

It is not anticipated that this will affect other PLAYSTATION Network services

Once the new PLAYSTATION Store upgrade is complete, a new system software version will be available for download. This new system software must be installed before you may access the PLAYSTATION Network.
 

Paradise City: Major update on the way!

342w ago - Criterion Games' next major download for Paradise City (codenamed: Bogart) will be available on PSN and Xbox Live on 24th April.

The Top 10 problems reported by you have been fixed, these are:

* PS3 game can crash when a player is taken down and the player that has performed the Takedown leaves the game.
* The game indefinitely displays "Connecting to Paradise City Servers" if it's having problems communicating with the rebroadcast server.
* Disconnecting the controller before a race begins can mean that race timings can be manipulated with players who didn't cross the line first being awarded the win.
* Repeatedly joining and leaving a game with 8 players can cause the game to hang.
* Hammering the A (360) or X (PS3) after unlocking a car can cause the game to hang.
* East Crawford and Watt St achievements cannot be achieved if the player goes online and sets road rules before attempting them.
* Audio distortion when using 5.1 / DTS and looking back at the car.
* Enhanced 360 streaming performance stops instances where the game seems to pause for a second or so.
* Total time driven in player stats would stick at 145 hours.
* VoIP connection problems with 8 player games. This is now live on the Paradise City servers.
