To quote: Back in January we announced that PlayMemories Studio was headed to the PS3 this spring and today it becomes available to all of you through the PlayStation Store.

The new service is part of Sony's PlayMemories suite, which helps you edit and share your high quality videos and photos on a variety of devices. You can also use PlayMemories Studio with your PlayStation Vita or PSP via Remote Play.

This new download allows you to fully manage your photos and videos straight from your PS3:

Organizing & Viewing: In addition to the videos and photos you store on your PS3, the content you store on cameras, external hard drives and USB storage devices can be viewed without transferring all of it to your PS3. PlayMemories Studio also allows you to easily search and sort the content by date or location.

107w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi is here with this week's Pulse 3/27 Edition preview, which features Closure, Skullgirls and PS Vita Top 10 details below.

To quote: In this edition of Pulse presented by PlayStation Network, host Christina Lee shines the spotlight on Closure - another very cool indie game coming to PSN later today.

Check out this hand-drawn mysterious world that uses light as the primary game mechanic. Closure is this week's featured Spring Fever title in the PlayStation Store (and for more about the game, check out Sid Shuman's GDC interview here).

Upcoming 2D fighting game Skullgirls also features impressive hand-drawn art. With eight female characters and three-person teams, this dark deco fighter shows off some impressive moves - of course, Pulse is there for the full story.

ReActPSN PS3 RAP2RIF .RAP to .RIF File Converter is Released

700°
108w ago - Following up on the previous ReActPSN v2.20 release, I have recently created a small PS3 RAP2RIF converter application for converting .RAP files from ReActPSN to .RIF file format.

Download: ReActPSN PS3 RAP2RIF .RAP to .RIF File Converter

It is based on a my own research.

Place it to the ps3tools directory along with other tools and then place your idps and act.dat files to appropriate folders.

This tool will generate .rif file that you should copy to your exdata/ folder. Then you can unself a corresponding NPDRM file.

Have fun.

Finally, from flatz comes the source code for RAP2RIF and RAP2RIFKey below:

Video: Epic Mickey 2: Warren Spector Explains the Power of Two

200°
108w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a video today spotlighting Epic Mickey 2 where Warren Spector explains the power of two below.

To quote: When Epic Mickey launched in 2010, PS3 owners could be forgiven for feeling a wee bit left out.

The game was an ambitious, passionate love letter to decades of rich Disney history, casting a newly assertive Mickey Mouse in a bittersweet tale set against a backdrop of decaying Disney lore.

But sometimes patience pays off. Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is coming to PS3 this fall with extensive support for PlayStation Move, vastly improved HD graphics, and a host of much-requested improvements.

I spoke with Creative Director Warren Spector to learn more about Epic Mickey 2, his work on the Deus Ex series, and his early thoughts on PS Vita. For more, listen to our full conversation on the latest episode of Official PlayStation Blogcast.

Unsurprisingly, PlayStation Move motion controls will serve as a key focus for Epic Mickey 2, though specifics remain scarce for the moment. "When we originally conceptualized the game," Spector explained, "we wanted to give Mickey control of the stuff he's made of - paint and ink.
