Video: Sony PlayStation Move TV Commercial with Kevin Butler

235w ago - Today AlternativeChaos from GameTrailers shared a new PlayStation Move TV commercial video, which features the popular Sony spokesman Kevin Butler.

If you missed it at GDC, PlayStation Move is Sony's upcoming motion-sensing game controller platform for the PS3 video game console, previously named simply the PlayStation Motion Controller.

Based on handheld motion controller wand, PlayStation Move uses the PlayStation Eye webcam to track the wand's position, and inertial sensors in the wand to detect its motion.

PlayStation Move is slated for worldwide launch in Q3/Q4 2010, and hardware available at launch includes the main PlayStation Move motion controller, and an optional PlayStation Move sub-controller.

Sony Officially Introduces PlayStation Move for PS3 at GDC 2010

236w ago - Previously we reported on PlayStation Move's confirmation and official specs from GDC 2010, and now SCEE's Product Marketing Director Mark Hardy has confirmed more details alongside a video!

Jack Tretton of SCEA also revealed that PlayStation Move will be available in a range of bundles, from stand-alone controllers, to a starter kit and even the 'Ultimate Bundle' which will include a PS3 console as well as the starter kit.

He noted that this will be the biggest effort of the Sony year and promised huge TV exposure!

Sony Trademarks PlayStation Move in Europe, Possible Arc Name?

236w ago - Update: Sony has finally confirmed at the GDC conference that their PS3 Motion Controller wand-shaped device is called PlayStation Move (official specs below, courtesy of [Register or Login to view links]) and is slated for a Fall 2010 release.

Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, has stated that at Sony alone there are twenty games in development for the PlayStation Move platform.

Plans for a $100 PlayStation Eye and Move bundle package were announced, however, no word on the cost of the peripheral by itself.

Today JoyStiq (linked above) reports that Sony has [Register or Login to view links] 'PlayStation Move' in Europe, which some are speculating may be another name for the PS3 Motion Controller recently dubbed Arc.

To quote: "Yesterday, Sony filed a European trademark, for use with a control device, for 'PlayStation Move.'
