Sony Unveils PulzAR: PS Vita's Next AR Play Blasts Off Next Month

117w ago - Sony Assistant Producer Shaun Wharton has unveiled the next AR Play video game title for PS Vita called PulzAR, which blasts off next month with full details below!

To quote: We are excited to announce a captivating new addition to the Augmented Reality (AR) Play line-up next month with the release of PulzAR.

PulzAR is a mind boggling, potentially Earth-shattering puzzle game that turns nearly any flat surface into an epic battle against time and a looming celestial event with the use of your AR Play cards.

You see, in PulzAR, the Earth is in grave danger. Somewhere just beyond our planet's outer atmosphere, a series of colossal asteroids are spinning ever closer on a deadly collision course to wipe out humankind.

So far, all attempts to divert their trajectory have failed. Now, in mankind's desperate last stand against certain catastrophe, it's up to you to command a network of explosive rockets and try to blast the asteroids into a harmless meteor shower before they reach Earth.

Using precision laser technology, you have only a limited time to program the guidance system using a series of reflectors, splitters, and filters that activate the nodes that will launch the rockets towards their targets.

Sony GT Academy 2012 PS3 Update: How & When to Unlock Prizes

117w ago - Sony Associate Product Manager Ken Chan has posted up a GT Academy 2012 PS3 update today which covers how and when to unlock prizes for competitors.

To quote: Welcome to week four of this year's GT Academy competition! By now you've probably learned the basic fundamentals of the racing line, variable high-speed cornering, continuous elevation changes, and multi-radius acceleration, all while trying to maintain the highest grip possible to maximize corner exit speed.

If you achieved a Gold Trophy in all five events within a round, you will unlock the GT Academy-spec Nissan used in the trials of that round. Prizes will be distributed one week after the online competition of GT Academy ends, which is on or after July 4th, 2012.

Here are the four cars you can unlock in Rounds 1 through 4:

• Round 1 - Nissan Leaf (GT Academy) '11
• Round 2 - Nissan Silvia spec-R AERO (GT Academy) '02
• Round 3 - Nissan Skyline GT-R Vspec II (GT Academy) '94
• Round 4 - Nissan 370Z (GT Academy) '08

Note: Each of the subsequent vehicle prizing will be unveiled as Round 5 and 6 are unlocked on May 28th and Round 7 and 8 on June 11th

Sony Introduces Music Unlimited Service for iPhone & iPod Touch

117w ago - Today Sony's Greg Belloni has officially introduced the Music Unlimited Service for iPhone and iPod Touch users with details below, as follows:

You love the Music Unlimited service because you can access your music across multiple devices - from listening at home on your PS3, at work via the PC app, traveling with PS Vita or your Android tablet.

But you're an iPhone user and you want that all-access pass without bringing along another device.

Well, get ready: the Music Unlimited service app for iPhone and iPod touch is set for release to the Apple App Store this coming Friday, May 25, 2012!

The free app will let you access the Music Unlimited service's cloud library of millions of songs and browse new releases, get recommendations, view top songs and more.

Users of the Music Unlimited service will be able to access their entire library as well as playlists and Basic and Premium channels. You'll find helpful recommendations throughout the app, both on the Home screen and in an artist's Discography, which displays "More Like This" suggestions.

Installing the app is easy:

• On Friday, launch the Apple App Store then type "Music Unlimited" in the search box.
