Video: PS3 40GB Service Mode Console Running PS2 Games

273w ago - Today D3M0N2009 shared a video from earlier this month courtesy of sonyk0 via YouTube.

The video from DemonHades demonstrates that PS3 40GB Service Mode consoles can actually play PS2 games, but the feature isn't unlocked for the retail counterparts to date.

As most suspect, Sony has been working on a PS2 software emulator for quite some time (since Firmware 2.5x), so the question is really when and how they will introduce it publically.. perhaps via PSN Store PS2 title updates, or just include it in a Firmware update, etc.

Those interested can check out the video below, enjoy!

Video: PSP Debug Firmware Running on a Retail PSP Console

274w ago - Well there is not much information yet pertaining to how this was done, but video proof has been provided as can be seen below courtesy of 0JOhnJAck0.

Now what is the significance of this you may ask. First off, I think its pretty obvious that this could not be done before. So this demonstrates just how far devs have gone with their knowledge of the PSP.

Of course one cannot help but to wonder if this will lead to any discoveries on Sony's other gaming device, the PS3.

Until more information about how exactly this was achieved on the PSP is released, we can only hope that it may assist in getting PS3 debug firmware running on the retail PS3.

Phenom II Runs Crysis at 6.2GHz - Quite an Achievement!

100°
280w ago - We've seen Phenom II, Deneb overclocked all the way to 6.2GHz. This was not a screenshot boot, we've seen it with our own eyes as chaps from AMD managed to run the Crysis benchmark several times. The machine was stable on almost every run.

AMD was insisting that this was a stock CPU not a cherry picked one, and that similar scores should be expected from retail products. Intel has never managed to get to over 6GHz and we are sure that Intel is doing some catching up.

You naturally need some LN2 to get to such a high scores and it looks that Phenom II might become an overclocker's favorite toy.

This is quite an achievement and with water you will get to 4GHz+, while with a good air cooler you should reach clocks around 4GHz.

Video: Acekard Flash Cart Running on the Nintendo DSi

50°
282w ago - AceKardTeam has shared via YouTube a video of their flash cart working on the Nintendo DSi in a LAB environment. However, they admit that even though they can get it running, it is almost impossible to make a commercial product out of it.

To quote: This is a lab work, it works ONLY in LAB. Even though we can go this far, it is almost impossible to make a commercial product.

There is a major problem that can't be resolved, at least for now. It seems DSi did many sanity checks to make sure there is no more fcards.. we will keep researching and good luck to all.

BTW: We assume there are more than one modes on DSi, we still haven't found any way to access the SD card slot in origin DS mode.
