PS Vita Memory Card Pricing Revealed by Retailer GameStop

139w ago - This weekend video game retailer [Register or Login to view links] has revealed pricing for PS Vita accessories and Memory Cards, which will be available in 4, 8, 16 and 32 GB sizes.

To quote from Examiner.com (linked above): "In addition to the first-part offerings from Sony Computer Entertainment, Mad Catz and PDP are also planning a few third-party accessories for the launch of the portable system.

The PS Vita will launch in North America on February 22nd. The first edition bundle (which includes a limited edition case, 4 GB memory card and Little Deviants) is available a week earlier."

PS3-Vita Connectivity and More Revealed in Leaked Sony PDF File

154w ago - Today Examiner.com (linked above) reports that a leaked Sony R&D presentation PDF File ([Register or Login to view links]) has revealed PS3-Vita connectivity, save sharing and more through PlayStation Network.

In addition, features such as voice chat and messaging along with remote play will also be available. Those interested can check out some slides from the SCEE R&D presentation HERE.

To quote: "Today a PDF file was discovered from a Keynote given at Develop in Brighton, the PDF reveals plans for Vita and how the new portable will interact with other Vita's locally and over the internet, what services the handheld will feature, DLC, as well as how the Vita and PS3 can interact - Vita as a PS3 controller but using Vita's unique features to enhance the game experience and several others are touched on.

The PDF document also details Vita's communication modes and how it will interact with the PlayStation Network, future updates, information on cross-platform play, cross-game chat, and much more."
 

PS Vita Social Apps, New Games & Specs Revealed at Gamescom

154w ago - Today SCEE's James Gallagher has unveiled news of upcoming Social Applications for PS Vita alongside new games and official specifications from Gamescom 2011.

To quote: PlayStation Vita's promise of pairing the cutting-edge game experiences PlayStation is famed for with the always connected, social experiences modern consumers are used to, all in a sleek portable device, became clearer at [Register or Login to view links].

At the SCEE press conference we learned that Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Foursquare applications will be available on Vita alongside such social features as:

Near: find out what your friends in the vicinity are playing now or what they were playing recently. Meet new players virtually, regardless of what games they are playing, simply by sharing their game information across different dimensions of time and distance.

Party: Enjoy voice chat or text chat not only during online gaming, but also when users are playing different games or using different applications such as the internet browser.

SCEE President and CEO Andrew House declared that "PlayStation is about games and PlayStation Vita is a breakthrough portable entertainment system that will thrill gamers."
