27w ago - Sony Product Planning & Platform Software Innovation Director Don Mesa announced that Toro's Friend Network and Paint Park Plus are out tomorrow on PS Vita!
Below are the details, to quote: As we mentioned back in February, we have plenty of new applications on the way to PS Vita, and we're here today to talk more about what's coming your way soon for your favorite handheld.
First off, we're really excited to bring you Toro's Friend Network, PS Vita's first social gaming application, which you can try for yourself tomorrow when PSN updates.
Toro's Friend Network is free to download, and offers you the ability to connect with your existing friends on Twitter and Facebook, as well as giving you the opportunity to meet new friends on PSN.
In addition to taking part in activities, such as building a town and adventuring into the Friend Dungeon to unlock new items, you'll be able to purchase hundreds of items to personalize your experience, like new outfits for your avatar, ability enhancements, and new name card designs.
Check out the trailer below to get an idea of how Toro's Friend Network can connect you and your gaming buddies in a new unique way.
28w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill has gone hands-on today with Media Molecule's new PS Vita adventure game entitled Tearaway below.
To quote: Media Molecule have proven themselves the masters of cuteness and community creativity, constructing a passionate fanbase worldwide through the madly successful LittleBigPlanet series. But what happens when the house that built a Planet sets out to create something completely new?
Maybe I should rephrase that. Their new project, Tearaway, isn't completely outside the studio's comfort zone. It's still adorable, inventive, and a true showcase of its platform's capabilities. Built with PS Vita in mind, Tearaway makes impressive (but not excessive!) use of the integrated camera and rear touchpad to craft a more tactile and immersive world.
Case in point: You'll occasionally come across transparent surfaces marked with PlayStation symbols, an indication that you can interact with that area via PS Vita's rear touchpad.
Sometimes this means tapping on the back of your Vita to beat a drum, which will launch iota or atoi (your fearless paper protagonists) far into the air above. Other times, it means poking your finger straight into the game to protect your companion from incoming enemies, or to move an object that's...

30w ago - Lucid Games Founder Nick Davies announced today alongside a video that Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery camps out on PS Vita today.
To quote: Today we're launching Episode 1 of Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery on PS Vita for just $2.99, bringing the quirky adventures of title character Jacob in the most memorable summer of his life at Camp Eagle Feather.
Eagle Feather's counselors aren't the sensible, parental figures you'd want supervising a camp filled with unruly kids. In fact, the counselors have developed a suspicious fixation, making sure every camper is well fed... extremely well fed.
Let's meet some of the characters you'll run into along the way:
• Mr. Grimmel, head of Physical Education - For someone who appears to have a pathological hatred for kids, working at a summer camp doesn't exactly seem like the perfect career choice for Mr. Grimmel. Cross him at your own peril...
• Mr. Thagorous, head of Science - What's going on inside the science lab at Camp Eagle Feather? It all seems a little more dangerous than your typical school chemistry lab.
• Mr. Hans, Groundsman - He seems friendly enough but he's obsessed with the gophers digging up his well-maintained grounds, so obsessed in fact, he's taking drastic measures to...
