Hothead Games Confirms The Baconing Hits PSN Play August 30th

159w ago - Hothead Games Producer Mike Inglehart has confirmed today that The Baconing is hitting PSN Play on August 30, 2011.

To quote: I am really excited to be able to share some insight on our exciting and meaty game [Register or Login to view links] coming out August 30th, 2011 as part of the PSN Play promotion, which runs until September 19th!

I have been lucky enough to work in the industry for over 11 years now but never did I imagine working on a game with an epic title like The Baconing! I mean, everyone loves bacon and now the fan favorite food has made its way into gaming.

The Baconing is an action RPG which stars everyone's favorite Vanquisher of Evil, DeathSpank. The story revolves around DeathSpank wearing all six Thongs of Virtue which unfortunately summons an evil version of himself in the AntiSpank.

Now our hero must seek out the Fires of Bacon and burn five of the Thongs, which will allow him to weaken and defeat the evil giant, bringing peace back to Spanktopia.

The one thing I really enjoyed about working on The Baconing is that the game does not take itself too seriously. We had a ton of laughs creating characters, quests and in the studios during the voice recordings.

Video: Tozai Games Confirms Spelunker HD Hits PSN Tomorrow

160w ago - Tozai Games Director/Producer Brett Ballow has confirmed that Spelunker HD hits the European PSN Store tomorrow alongside a video trailer below.

To quote: Good news my fellow Spelunkers of SCEE territories - the wait is over! It's time to charge up your headlamps and push your cave exploring tendencies to all new heights... er, depths: Spelunker HD is coming to the PlayStation Store tomorrow.

Throughout your arduous adventure you will encounter all the wicked elements of Timothy Martin's original 1983 masterpiece, but with so many newly concocted ways to die it may feel a bit like a devilish set-up... a cave of untold riches guarded by more pits, tricks, traps and more enemies than are stars in the night sky.

But the only stars you'll be seeing for weeks will be the ones circling your head as you run, jump, blast and scratch your way ever deeper towards the 100,000 meter finale. The 100 newly devised caverns may be set in 10 brand new high definition environments, but are just as behemoth in size and complexity as you remember and expect. And getting to the bottom is only half the battle.

But that's not the only catch; [Register or Login to view links], reputedly the weakest...

Video: One Epic Game by Grip Games Hits PSN Tomorrow

163w ago - Grip Games CEO Jakub Mikyska has posted up a video trailer today announcing that One Epic Game is hitting PSN tomorrow.

To quote: My name is Jakub from [Register or Login to view links], the folks who gave you MiniSquadron and [Register or Login to view links], and I'd like to tell you about our next project - One Epic Game, which is now being released via PlayStation Store tomorrow.

All of gaming's most notorious stereotypes finally make an appearance in one epic game - aliens, zombies, fantasy, World War II and nuclear wasteland. [Register or Login to view links] puts you in the shoes of Alpha Dog, another muscular, one dimensional action hero with the task to negotiate with the enemies the only way they understand - a bullet in the brain!

As you have probably guessed by now, everything about One Epic Game is intentionally over-the-top. The name, the action, the main hero, humour... One Epic Game is a parody of all the gaming stereotypes we see in almost every action game. But it does not stop only with games, as you'll see us pay homage to some popular movies and much more.

One Epic Game is a minis game and will...
