100°
215w ago - A few days back we saw hints that the Killzone 3 PS3 beta may be coming, and today further confirmation arrives with the launch of the official Killzone 3 PlayStation 3 Web site [Register or Login to view links].

According to JamesM5150 via IronStarMovement.com (linked above), more Killzone 3 PS3 details are expected to surface at this year's Gamescom convention, which runs from August 18th to the 22nd, 2010.

To quote: "This pretty much confirms that there will be indeed some sort of public beta announcement soon, considering everyone that had access to the Killzone 2 multiplayer beta (which started: 10/08/08) can view the Killzone 3 beta listing themselves.

There is also a Killzone 3 beta website that allows you to log-in with your PlayStation Network ID, however, you cannot access the contents of the webpage just yet and your PSN ID is claimed to be invalid."

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light Gets Staggered Multiplayer

100°
215w ago - Today Crystal Dynamics has revealed to IGN that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is getting a staggered multiplayer rollout.

The video game is heading to Xbox Live on August 18th, however, Guardian of Light will not feature online multiplayer until Sony's PS3 and PC users join the party.

To quote: "Although the full single-player campaign and local co-op will be available, online multiplayer will arrive in a free update on September 28th - the same day the full game and online multiplayer will be available on the PlayStation Network and Steam.

From October to December, there will be five additional downloadable packs that will be made available.

Although the specific content of these packs is still unclear, we do know that the first three will be standard expansions that feature new puzzles, exploration sequences and combat scenes. The following two downloadable packs will introduce new characters into the mix."

Blur Multiplayer PS3 Demo is Now Live on PlayStation Network

218w ago - Activision's Social Media Manager Dan Amrich has announced that beginning today the Blur multiplayer PS3 demo is live on PlayStation Network.

To quote: Today, the PlayStation 3 demo of [Register or Login to view links] became available in the PlayStation Store – and you know what comes standard?

Pools of lightning bolts, explosive mines, bursts of nitro speed, and big glowing red balls of homing-missile danger. This is the kind of arcade-style combat racing that gets my motor running.

Oh, and the mileage is excellent – I've been playing [Register or Login to view links] for weeks now and I'm still not bored.

The Blur multiplayer demo gives you a pretty sizeable chunk of what the game has to offer. A dozen real-world cars, including I'll-never-own-it-but-I-can-drool rides like the Lotus Exige Cup 260 and Ford GT.

Six tracks in two gameplay modes and seven mods that let you tweak the game mechanics to match your style of play all eight of the chaotic power-ups, and the ability to boast about your skills to friends on the PlayStation Network with a single button press. (The full retail version also lets you brag on Facebook and Twitter.)
