179w ago - Today Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a PS3 demo video from E3 2010 showcasing Spec Ops: The Line for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: In 2K Games' upcoming PS3 third-person action game Spec Ops: The Line, catastrophic sandstorms have assaulted Dubai and left the City of Gold's famous gravity-defying skyscrapers entombed under mountains of choking, swirling sand.
I sat in on a demonstration of Spec Ops: The Line at the 2010 E3 Expo, and learned more about the game's improvisational combat and tense atmosphere, as well as the difficult decisions you'll face as a Delta Force squad leader.
The story finds inspiration in the film Apocalypse Now. As Delta Force Captain Martin Walker, your team ventures into the Dubai wastes to track down a distress signal from Colonel John Konrad, who went AWOL following the sandstorms.
The fate of Col. Konrad and his men will be revealed as you play, but if you've seen Apocalypse Now, you might have some clues about the dark territory this tale will explore.

182w ago - Today IGN has posted up a PlayStation Move Sony PS3 tech demo from E3 2010 which can be seen below alongside a Kung Fu Rider PlayStation Move video.
As recently revealed, the PlayStation Move motion controller features an orb at the head which can glow in any of a full range of colors using RGB light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
The colored light serves as an active marker, the position of which can be tracked along the image plane by the PlayStation Eye.
The uniform spherical shape and known size of the light also allows the system to simply determine the controller's distance from the PlayStation Eye through the light's image size, thus enabling the controller's position to be tracked in three dimensions with high precision and accuracy.
The sphere-based distance calculation allows the controller to operate with minimal processing latency, as opposed to other camera-based control techniques on the PlayStation 3.
Those interested can check out the PlayStation Move E3 2010 Sony PS3 tech demo and a Kung Fu Rider PlayStation Move video below!
186w ago - At the Nürburgring 24-hour circuit a lucky gamer named Michi takes a Lexus out for a spin in the GT5 PS3 demo, and MrTUX82 has uploaded it to YouTube demonstrating Gran Turismo 5's sense of speed.
To quote: "Using the game's new professional driving physics, the gamer does a bloody good job at posting a respectable time at extreme speeds.
Now, we're not sure if it's just the quality of the driver, or the choice of camera, but the sense of speed in the following video is palpable.
Let us know whether you agree in the comments section. We'll hear more about Gran Turismo 5, which is expected to release later this year, at next months E3."
Circuit: Nordschleife 24h-circuit with GP connection
