114w ago - Today Square Eniz Product Manager Charles McCarter has confirmed that Chrono Trigger will be hitting PSN on October 4, 2011 in North America.
To quote: What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words "Chrono Trigger?" I'm sure a lot of things, but I bet the first thing on your mind right now is "When can I get it?"
We're happy to confirm that Chrono Trigger is coming to the PSN in North America on October 4th. That's right- in just a few days, you'll be able to visit (or re-visit, as I'm sure is the case for many of you) one of the most hilarious and unique casts of characters ever assembled in an RPG:
Crono: The spiky-haired, stoic protagonist who finds himself wrapped up in events beyond his control. He's pretty good with a katana and doesn't run from a fight.
Marle: The requisite princess, but she's no ordinary princess. How many princesses do you know that wield a crossbow?
Lucca: Chrono's best friend since they were little kids. Oh, and she's a supergenius who invents things such as the teleporter that starts your journey through time.
Frog: A knight from the middle ages, Frog is a man who has been cursed and turned into a giant anthropomorphic...
115w ago - Producer and Studio Head Sian Yue Tan has announced today that Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken hits PS3 on PSN this October, with details as follows:
In July I had the pleasure of announcing that our game, Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, was coming exclusively to PSN. We've gone and polished the heck out of it and will be shipping these fine feathered friends to you soon!
The game was in production for the PS3 for just over a year, but the Rocketbirds have been with me much longer. It started in the 80s with those anthropomorphic animal comics, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Using only birds gave the stories a satirical edge I could play with.
It wasn't until 2000, when I'd co-founded Ratloop Inc., and had decided to go back to complete my studies that I started to use the birds as a way to vent my creative energy.
I spent a week putting together a clip called "Pilot." It had sneaky penguins infiltrating a chicken base on what looked like the North Pole. It got good attention at the time, so the simple formula stuck with me.
Eventually I spent a week at an art event called Trustus. Artists had seen and liked "Pilot," that year a bunch of us created a movie (with Penguins and Chickens) during the week- it played non-stop,...
116w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment America Product Evaluator Nick Suttner has shared a new video today confirming that users should make space in their intergalactic gardens on October 4th for Eufloria which hits PlayStation Network then.
To quote: I know it's been a while since we last spoke, but the Pub Fund group at SCEA has been hard at work on bringing interesting, exclusive content to PSN. Okabu, Papo & Yo, and more clandestine projects are still on the horizon, but today I'm here to drop the launch details for Eufloria - a very different, very special sort of strategy game.
It's tough to distill the concept down to a couple of sentences without doing the experience a huge injustice, but this excellent trailer should give you an idea of the mood and visual direction:
Now take that ethereal aesthetic, and the tingling that you're feeling in your temples, and fold a layer of smartly accessible strategy elements over it. You'll be exploring, conquering and colonizing enemy asteroids without the need for messy tech trees or arcane controls.
It's a rare game that satisfies both ends of the art game/strategy game spectrum, but I think that Eufloria nails it. It's also tunable in either direction - play on the less hectic Chilled...
121w ago - Today Sucker Ken Schramm at Punch Productions has announced that the InFamous 2 PS3 DLC: Festival of Blood will be hitting PSN this October.
To quote: Hopefully, all of you inFAMOUS fans have had a chance to play plenty of the UGC missions since our June launch.
Here's a fun fact: Players have spent a total of 451,251 hours - or 51 years - playing those UGC missions. While those missions have kept you entertained, it's now time for a major DLC announcement.
inFAMOUS 2 Festival of Blood will be a brand new standalone single player DLC for download via PSN. Vampires swarm New Marais, and revered superhero Cole MacGrath has been bitten.
To save his soul - and the city - he has just one night to find and kill the head vampire. Featuring new missions, themed environment settings, plus new characters and enemies, Festival of Blood explores the darker side of the inFAMOUS universe. Previous inFAMOUS games will not be needed to play this DLC.
The DLC will swarm PSN in October, in time for Halloween. In the meantime, here is the first piece of high-res art and a new video teaser trailer during Pyre Night in New Marais. Enjoy!
