120w ago - Mortal Kombat Producer Hector Sanchez has shared some fresh Kitana video trailer footage today of Mortal Kombat, which will be hitting the PlayStation Vita handheld on May 1, 2012.

To quote: Developing Mortal Kombat for PS Vita was an incredibly rewarding experience for the team here at NetherRealm Studios.

The ability to utilize the numerous new features available on PS Vita was a very gratifying mission, and we are delivering the best possible on-the-go fighting experience for fans.

Our design team jumped at the opportunity to devise 150 new Challenge Tower missions that incorporate the DLC characters (like Freddy Krueger!), while also integrating the front touchscreen and accelerometer in ways that made sense and enhanced the complete Mortal Kombat experience.

The artists enjoyed creating some excellent new costumes (still to be revealed!), as well as re-creating an iconic MKII arena that integrates the rear camera that will give players the ability to literally Fight Anywhere.

The Legend of Dragoon: PS1 RPG Classic Reborn May 1st on PSN

120w ago - SCE Worldwide Studios President Shu Yoshida has announced today that the PS1 RPG classic The Legend of Dragoon is coming to PSN on May 1, 2012.

To quote: The Legend of Dragoon was one of the last projects I worked on as a producer in Japan Studio and by far the biggest team I managed hands-on.

We started the project in 1996 with only a handful of people, hired one by one as we were building up teams for Ape Escape, The Legend of Dragoon, and Ico simultaneously. During the peak of the game's development, we had well over 100 people working internally in the studio on The Legend of Dragoon - for a PSone game!

We had roughly 10 artists dedicated just to drawing concept art for this gigantic RPG. As the game contained lots of pre-rendered maps and full-motion videos, we were forced to spread the content over four CDs, which was the maximum number of discs that the fattest PSone game case could hold.

It took nearly three years to build the team and develop the game, which was released in December 1999 in Japan and June 2000 in the US. As I moved from Japan to the US in March 2000, I was able to personally handle the game's release in both Japan and the US.

Following the game's launch in Japan, we learned from players that certain parts of the game were too difficult....

To quote: In case you missed our PS Vita video livechat today, PlayStation's John Koller revealed an official release date for Resistance: Burning Skies.

The Chimera will invade PS Vita on May 29, 2012, bringing you the world's first portable dual-analog FPS.

Sure, Worms Ultimate Mayhem is a "best of" compilation of content from both Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem, so it's got 38 weapons, plenty of customization options (including a selection of new ones) making for 115 individual customization elements in total.

There are also 60 single-player missions taken from both sources, making it a massive game. We've taken the opportunity to improve on what was there already too. We have made some really nice improvements to the camera and made the game even more approachable; to this end we added a new utility (the Binoculars) to help you aim, and an automatic shot assist mechanic that helps your shots find their targets in easy mode. We have also added some really cool loyalty content too.
