247w ago - Today Brian Fleming of Sucker Punch Productions introduced the new inFamous PS3 Trailer on Sony's PlayStation Blog. To quote:
What can I say? We're workin' hard and it really shows in the game. The detail work, the polish, the bug fixing – it all has a massive effect on the end experience... But while we're feeling good, we're also a long way from that release disc... Gotta keep grinding...
So okay, enough babble... You're here to see a new inFamous trailer, not listen to me gaze at my navel, so let's get on with it, and I'll give you some thoughts and tidbits...
The FX and details on the powers are a continued source of work and polish, and if you look closely at the piece, you'll see Cole deployed his Polarity Wall shield, something we've not shown before... Yet another power for his arsenal!
Probably time for me to get back to the electron mine... Status meeting in 12 minutes and I'm behind on all the stuff I was supposed to be doing instead of writing blog posts :-D. Talk to you more when we get close to the end...
252w ago - Today Nate Fox of Sucker Punch Production covered a press event that took place last weekend in NYC, letting a huge slew of folks get their hands on inFamous. To quote:
On top of the three missions we showcased in the Neon District, players will finally have a chance to see some of the dark, broken down streets of the Warren neighborhood. It's a dangerous place ruled by the Dustmen gang. This squad of one-time homeless men now rule through the use of strong telekinetic powers.
Clothed in bits of trash, they're nearly invisible when hiding in the tangled alleys of the Warren. Strong in fight, their ranks are backed by huge superpowered comrades. Men outfitted in giant suits of torn metal and concrete, they crush police beneath their feet.
This past weekend players had a chance to fight these goliaths while defending the Empire City jail from the Dustmen siege. Walls will be smashed in, guard towers toppled and many thugs will get a lightening bolt to the face.
To help our hero Cole protect the jail, we've rolled out one of his new powers called Precision. Precision allows Cole to slow down time and zoom in on enemies. Perfect for hitting unsuspecting enemies at a distance.
252w ago - Sony hosted an off-site Comic-Con 2009 preview for its slate of upcoming games including inFamous - Sucker Punch Productions' open-world, action-adventure superhero-title.
Nate Fox was on hand to give me a demo, introducing himself as, "Nate Fox, like the small animal that eats chickens. I'm the game director at infamous, so I'm responsible for this mess." After playing through the demo I can guarantee you that he's joking.
Gamers take the reins of Cole McGrath, a former bike messenger, two weeks after he wakes up as the only survivor at the epicenter of an explosion that wipes out six blocks and thousands of denizens of Empire City.
On the upside, Cole discovers that he now has superpowers based off of controlling electricity. On the downside, Empire City has gone to hell. A plague sets in following the explosion and leads to a federal quarantine on Empire City.
Then some good old-fashioned rioting kills off most of the local cops. Fox described Empire City's conditions saying, "In the power vacuum that follows, some of the gangs decide 'We're going to take what we want' and form up militias.
Looting is an important aspect to any video game these days, it's very next-gen. It's in what is effectively...
