182w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a video today featuring Square Enix's Takashi Tokita speaking on Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection and PSP RPG games.

To quote: [Register or Login to view links] is a name well respected among Square Enix fans, having helmed classic RPGs from Parasite Eve (newly resurrected for PSN) to Chrono Trigger.

Now he's overseeing the restoration of one of the earliest games of his career with Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection, coming to PSP on April 19th.

On the cusp of Final Fantasy IV's 20-year anniversary, Tokita explained his goals for The Complete Collection. The basic expectations are well and truly met: You'll get remastered high-res artwork that takes full advantage of the PSP's widescreen display, eye-catching new 3D special effects, an updated English translation, and two soundtrack options.

Also, for the first time in North America, FFIV will be presented in its pure, uncensored form, which will primarily translate to a few skimpier outfits and a handful of [Register or Login to view links] omitted from previous releases.

What won't change is the story, which...

Video: Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy: EX Burst PSP Tour

182w ago - Square Enix Head of Public Relations Sonia Im has shared some new video footage today as part of a Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy: EX Burst PSP Tour.

To quote: With [Register or Login to view links] out this week, I thought I'd share some videos that show the various EX Burst attacks. You can watch them below!

But first: what is an EX Burst? EX Burst is equivalent of a super move in a game like Street Fighter. Each character has a special move which you'll recognize from their original game. During the EX burst, you'll have to input several button cues but each is customized for each unique character.

For example, Tifa's EX Burst features the same slot reels for her Limit Break in Final Fantasy VII. For Tidus, you'd have to align the cursor in the target zone like his Overdrive attack in Final Fantasy X.

For Squall, you'll have to pull the trigger just like in Final Fantasy XIII. The more successful you are with the button cues, the more devastating the attack.

The EX system is actually more than a special move because, during battle, you'll have to fill up a meter called the EX gauge. Once...

SynaPS3 FINAL JailBreak Library Preceding Fail0verflow Release

550°
194w ago - Here is the final revision of SynaPS3 preceding the release of fail0verflow's tools. SynaPS3 will not be updated further until the fail0verflow team releases their tools.

Download: SynaPS3 FINAL "JailBreak" Library / [Register or Login to view links]

This is a final revision in the sense that all further github pushes will be based on the new private key related tools, and I can only hope that the improvements made to SynaPS3 in the near future will help it become a powerful tool for PS3 devs when the new tools become available.

The next github push will remove all syscalls and focus on fail0verflow specific tools, so all functions related to specific payloads or calls will be unavailable, in the hopes that the next push will have far better means of implementing many things.

Once again, I hoped to finish coding a way of writing to /dev_flash without Peek/Poke, but this goal was not realized as I did not have that much time this month to work on SynaPS3...
