Sony Adds More Titles to PlayStation Store Retro Games PSN Sale

50°
119w ago - Sony's Andy Stewart of the PlayStation Store Team has announced the addition of more titles to their PS Store Retro Games PSN sale today!

To quote: Hello everybody. I hope you are all enjoying our current Retro Sale.

Just a quick update - I have been listening to all your comments and have got some more deals for you! See below for the full list of additions.

Now you will notice that Resident Evil 2 is on the list but be warned, this DOES NOT currently work on the PS Vita. We are aware of the issue and are trying to fix it - hopefully it will work on the PS Vita soon but I don't have an ETA yet.

Once the game has been fixed you will be able to re-download the game for PS Vita, but for now you can only purchase it through your PS3. Sorry to disappoint with this but I will see if we can replicate the offer once it is working for PS Vita - though I can't make any promises.

I recommend buying it now on the PS3 (if you have one) for the future to avoid disappoint on missing this sale opportunity.

These discounts will start on Wednesday 12th September once the weekly store update has happened. All offers will end on 19th September....

Sony Goes Behind The PS One / PS2 Classics with MediEvil

250°
120w ago - Following up on their previous lookback, today Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton goes behind the PS One / PS2 Classics with the popular MediEvil PlayStation video game.

To quote: The second entry in our Behind the Classics series is a real lost gem - SCE Cambridge Studios' wild, wacky supernatural adventure MediEvil.

First released on PSOne back in 1998, it put you in the shoes of Sir Daniel Fortesque - an undead knight unwittingly reanimated by the evil sorcerer Zarok who embarks on a quest to liberate the kingdom of Gallowmere.

A sequel followed in 2000, with a PSP remake also popping up on PSP in 2005, however, it's the original game that remains most embedded in the memory.

With Sir Dan soon to enjoy a comeback of sorts as a playable character in PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, we sat down with original designer Chris Sorrell to find out more about the game's development.

PlayStation.Blog: What was the original concept for the game? Did you draw inspiration from anywhere in particular for the game's look and feel?

Chris Sorrell, Game Designer, MediEvil: The first design proposal for the game had the working...

Sony European PSN Game Store Updates for September 5, 2012

50°
120w ago - Today Sony's Jawad Ashraf of the PlayStation Store Team is here with this weeks European PSN updates below, as follows:

Get ready for some tactical espionage action: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, both remastered in HD, arrive in the store today. Relive Raiden's first time in the limelight in MGS2 or experience Big Boss in MGS3 - my personal favourite.

Vita also sees some new content today with a brand new puzzle app Treasure Park - see our post from earlier today for more on that.

If you're a PS Plus member you will receive Red Dead Redemption as the new Game of the Month. How's that sound? Of course, you will also receive more titles in the middle of the month - see yesterday's post for full details.

Oh, and don't forget, a 12 month Plus subscription is discounted by 25% until 19th September - there's never been a better time to get involved.

As always, make sure to check the list below for which titles have new DLC this week.

We know many of you are awaiting word on Counter Strike: Global Offensive but unfortunately we currently have no new information to pass on.
