PSN Play: Last Chance to Download Some Great Games and More!

50°
121w ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer has announced today that this is the last chance for PSN Play fans to download some great games and get money back!

Below are the details, to quote: The clock is ticking - our summer PSN PLAY promotion is coming to a close very soon, but there's still time to take advantage of it.

Purchase titles from our PLAY lineup through August 27th and you'll be eligible for PSN vouchers of varying amounts, depending on how many you get. Buying two games nets you $3, three games, $6 and if you grab all four titles you get $10 back in your PSN wallet.

The game offerings are quite enticing - there's our new No. 1 selling PSN game for PS Vita, Sound Shapes (which comes with its PS3 version at no additional charge), indie darling Papo & Yo, fan-favorite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and the action-packed Expendables 2 Videogame.

As an added bonus, PlayStation Plus members can still nab Counter Strike: Global Offensive for 20% off the retail price. To learn more about PSN PLAY and the rest of the games available on PlayStation Network, click here.

If you want more information on the games included in the promotion, look no further:

Video: Naughty Bear: Panic In Paradise Turns On The PSN Charm

121w ago - Behaviour Creative Director Ashley Pannell has shared a video trailer today showcasing the upcoming PSN title Naughty Bear: Panic In Paradise below.

To quote: Ashley from [Register or Login to view links] here. When we first approached the development of Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, we set out to not just improve on the 2010 original but to exceed that and deliver a dramatically enhanced experience.

We always loved the core concept and the cheeky protagonist, Naughty Bear. Obviously we could have completely thrown the entire concept out and started again from scratch, but there were many things that our fans liked about Naughty Bear.

Our first goal was to fix the things that we were called out on and then add new, meaningful gameplay mechanics which would make Panic in Paradise as good as it possibly could be.

With that in mind, the following list lets you take a peek inside a few of the new features and mechanics in Panic in Paradise, due on PlayStation Network this October.

Graphics

Panic in Paradise has been built using a fully revamped version of our internal engine. A new lighting and shadow system brings a great new mood and feel to the world and also allows for a dramatically increased number of bears on screen.

Sony Details The Walking Dead: 9 Minutes With Robert Kirkman

300°
122w ago - Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman has shared details today on PSN title The Walking Dead as part of a 9-minute interview with Robert Kirkman.

Below are the details, to quote: Like many of you, I'm eagerly awaiting news on the release date of the third episode of Telltale Games' superb PSN series The Walking Dead, a game that is intimately connected to the grim world of Robert Kirkman's celebrated comic series.

I've long wondered just how involved Kirkman was with Telltale's hit game series, so when I got a chance to interview him during Gamescom in Germany last week, I dropped by bratwurst and Kolsch and picked up the phone.

I first met Kirkman during an [Register or Login to view links] for the late, great GamePro and, as always, the man is nothing if not humble about his considerable creative achievements.

He modestly described The Walking Dead's surge into mainstream pop culture as "a wild ride," and expressed great satisfaction with Telltale's work on the game.

My chat with Kirkman was short (he's a busy man!) but it yielded some fascinating insights into the creative processes behind one of the biggest properties in comics, TV, and gaming.

Video: Interview: Meet The Man Pulling Puppeteer's PS3 Strings

50°
122w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has shared a video interview today with the man pulling the Puppeteer's PS3 strings below.

To quote: If nothing else, Sony's [Register or Login to view links] 2012 show will be remembered for its bias away from en vogue browns and greys towards good old-fashioned primary colours.

From Tearaway and LittleBigPlanet Vita, to Diggs Nightcrawler and Ratchet & Clank: QForce, this year's press conference was big, bright and beautiful. Heck, even Killzone: Mercenary snuck a bit of neon into its debut trailer!

But perhaps the most colourful reveal of all was larger-than-life PS3 platformer Puppeteer, currently in development at Sony's Japan Studio. As explained in our announcement post last week, it's an eccentric affair that sees you step into the shoes of a young chap called Kutaro who has been imprisoned in a magical puppet realm by the maleficent Moon Bear King.

The trailer - which you can remind yourself of at the bottom of this post - looks brilliantly bonkers, and we're looking forward to bringing you more information on the game later this year as development progresses.

For now though, take a look...
