Video: SunFlowers Are Beaming to PlayStation Vita This Fall

50°
118w ago - The Game Atelier Lead Game Designer Dr. Lakav has announced today that SunFlowers are beaming to PlayStation Vita this Fall.

Below are the details, to quote: Hello everyone, we are very proud to present SunFlowers, coming this autumn to PS Vita.

At first sight this game may look pretty casual – indeed, its objective is pretty simple: you have to grow flowers using chain-reactions.

You control the Sun, and you have the power to grow beautiful flowers on the ground. To do this, you shoot rays of sunlight through passing clouds, which turns the sunlight into water, which in turn causes the plants to grow. But if a sun ray touches a seed or a flower, it starts to burn. Thankfully, a drop of water will clear that burn right up.

When a flower reaches maturity, two new seeds pop out on both sides of it. If one new seed drops on an empty space it will be planted. If there's already another flower the seed will bounce on it until it reaches a clear slot (and that's how you make Combos!).

Every flower grown during a game goes directly in your virtual garden, where you can watch your collection and even offer them to your friends or a "near" player. See if you can collect all the flowers!

Everybody can enjoy SunFlowers, from casual to core gamers, so the...

Videos: Sony Interviews Media Molecule, Talks of Tearaway!

50°
118w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton has shared some video interview footage today spotlighting Tearaway by Media Molecule below.

To quote: One of the big highlights of [Register or Login to view links] last week was [Register or Login to view links]'s return to the spotlight with Vita adventure Tearaway - the UK studio's first title since LittleBigPlanet 2.

Predictably, it's a riot of colour, creativity and wild invention, telling the story of iota - a plucky young hero on a mission to deliver a unique message to you, the player.

You'll help him on his way by interacting with his environment via the Vita's touch screen and rear touch panel. It looks like an absolute delight to play, leveraging all the Vita's features to offer up a unique, exciting gameplay experience.

The morning after they revealed the game on stage during the Sony press conference, Media Molecule co-founder Alex Evans and "design lead/chief doodler" Rex Crowle kindly sat down with me for a quick chat about the ideas driving the game, as well as a few words on the [Register or Login to view links] series.

Take a look at the video below, and then, for good measure, treat yourself to one...
