Don't expect any Treasure games on PSN anytime soon

50°
371w ago - On the cusp of Tokyo Game Show, the 1up crew tracked down Treasure president Masato Maegawa to ask him all sorts of questions regarding his company's future. Treasure, of course, is the company behind such great titles like Ikaruga, Radiant Silvergun and Guardian Heroes.

While we're sure plenty of you would love to download any of those games via the PlayStation Network, it doesn't look like it'll be happening ... at least not for awhile, anyway. Maegawa said that Treasure is just now "fully up and running on developing for Xbox Live Arcade, so to move resources to PSN just now wouldn't make much sense."

Eye of Judgment arrives in beautiful box

50°
371w ago - Today we received delivery of a rather fetching Eye of Judgment press pack, which you can see in the image below. Contained inside its four drawers was everything we needed to play the game, including magic cloth, deck of cards, PlayStation Eye and, of course, the game disk.

Also contained in the box were some fresh screens and a new movie, taken from the game's introduction sequence. No doubt the best way to play The Eye of Judgment will be online or with friends with each of you trying to outmatch your opponent's cards with your own.

371w ago - TicHack states: I was playing around with some TIFF image on Fw 1.93US when i found out something very interesting. After the TIFF show up on the Memory Card I copy it in the HDD.

Unfortunately the console doesn't read the TIFF and it give me Corrupted Data. Then I viewed the TIFF from the Photo Menu after I tooked the HDD OFF and I viewed it again then I scrolled the XMB on the Right Side and then very SLOWLY to the Left side and the we go the Ps3 didn't stop working.

I can go into Game Data Utility - Save Data Utility and I can use the TRIANGLE (e.g Eject Disc, Copy etcc) also plug in External Devices and so ON... Just try it.

The related file is linked below as well as a video demo!

371w ago - The petition for Sony to open the RSX for use in Linux has exceeded 10,000 signatures. With enough signatures we might be able to convince Sony to unlock the PS3 and enable realistic homebrew through Linux.

Please everyone sign up and help get the PS3 opened!

Sony reinvents the joypad

50°
371w ago - We're all waiting for the new Dual Shock 3 controller to be (shock!) unveiled at this week's Tokyo Game Show. But after a little digging, we've uncovered info suggesting that Sony isn't limiting itself to mere rumbling. It has bigger ideas to work on.

Thanks to the wonderful public database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, we've located an intriguing document filed by Sony back in September 2006. Buried within the interminable bureaucratic wordage are two high-potential projects: Voice-active consoles and pressure-sensitive buttons.

Voice-active consoles? The intention seems to be to use microphones housed on a console with voice-recognition software, for actions like analysing your voice to match you with a game's character, or recalling your personal config settings at the sound of your voice. There's even a suggestion that noise-making gizmos could be packaged in cereal boxes, with the specific noise they make triggering an unlockable item in-game.

Then there's some crazy talk about GPS positioning and speaker/microphone paradigm locators. But we can't say we really understood what it meant.

As for pressure-sensitive buttons, it's not exactly a new idea. The Dual Shock 2's buttons were somewhat analogue - ever...
