Sony Offers PlayStation Protection Plan for Added Peace of Mind

550°
221w ago - Today Sony's Hardware Marketing Director John Koller has announced news of a new PlayStation Protection Plan for those seeking added peace of mind with their PS3 and PSP product purchases.

To quote: Many of you can attest to the fact that the PlayStation brand has long been synonymous with the highest quality in engineering and design.

For those of you looking for a little extra peace of mind, we're now offering an extended service plan for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PSP (PlayStation Portable) systems that is backed by SCEA and leverages our technical expertise. With the PlayStation Protection Plan, you can extend the same coverage from the original manufacturer's one-year warranty for one or two additional years. The pricing includes all shipping charges and repairs, which are performed by PlayStation-trained service technicians at SCEA-authorized repair facilities.

The PlayStation Protection Plan is available beginning in May 2010. PSP owners can also choose the Accidental Damage Plan, which provides coverage for cracked-screen damage in the event of an unexpected...

222w ago - Associate Editor Nathan Ditum shared a video preview today of FirstPlay - Episode 4 for PlayStation 3 which is slated to arrive this Thursday via PSN.

To quote: It's Nathan here from FirstPlay with a heads up on this week's episode, which will be on the [Register or Login to view links]from Thursday as usual, unless that dream I had where all our PlayStations grew tiny legs and ran away comes true. Then we might be delayed a week.

This week we're mostly drooling over HD footage of Gran Turismo 5, with a little break for gazing into the future PlayStation Move, and slicing up some fools in the name of national security in Alpha Protocol.

We've also got our regular deluge of Network Highlights, featuring a guide to not losing horribly with Super Street Fighter IV's new scrappers, and an army of screenshots galleries, including SOCOM IV and Medal Of Honor.

As ever, this is all yours for just 99p, or even less if you sign up for a 90-day subscription.

One last thing - the brilliant crew over on the official EU forums have created a new FirstPlay section for us. Myself and the team will be in there as often as possible to avoid work answer any questions, and it's the easiest way to...
