PS Vita Firmware / System Software Update v1.65 Arrives, Details

121w ago - Sony Network Entertainment VP Eric Lempel has announced today that PS Vita Firmware / System Software update v1.65 is incoming alongside details on the changes in it outlined below.

Update: Sony has now removed PS Vita update v1.65 from PlayStation Network due to a technical fault related to adhoc play in PSP titles.

To quote: Hi, everyone. The next PS Vita System Software Update (v1.65) will be released soon and will include the following minor enhancements:

• A "Notification Alert" option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
• "After 10 minutes" will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
• An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea

PS Vita Magic Reader Script Out, PUP / SFO / PSF Support Incoming

122w ago - Today PlayStation Vita developer PsDev has made available a PS Vita Magic Reader script for those interested and noted that PUP, SFO and PSF support are also currently in the works.

To quote from his blog (linked above): Made this script in about 10 min. It extracts the Magic ASCII, PUP Version and License.xml from a VITA PUP here is the script.

Right now the script is stupid and doesn’t do much, I plan on adding a full PUP dump and a SFO/PSF dumper.

122w ago - This weekend PlayStation Vita developer wololo has made available a guide to porting VHBL (PS Vita Half-Byte Loader) to individual game exploits for those interested.

This news comes proceeding the recent Motorstorm Arctic Edge and Everybody's Tennis PSP / PS Vita game exploits.
