238w ago - A Team ICO Project Trico HD trailer and screenshot was posted yesterday, but a follow-up mail to Sony on the subject, to confirm if Fumito Ueda will be at E3 in two weeks time with trICO in toe met with a response as follows:
Yup, nout. Sony said that on the subject of Team ICO, they werent commenting on it. The official line given to us was:
With regards to the Team ICO video, I'm afraid we're not commenting on this.
Which means that, unlike SCEA, SCEE do acknowledge it, they're just not talking about it as such.
Which now worries us even more now considering the earlier news that a E3 reveal is now 50-50. But considering the positive reaction to the trailer, surely it will lead somewhere to a reveal 2 weeks from now, right?
Mind you, no comment basically means it's coming or real, in this case, it's real. We shall see...
238w ago - PlayStation 3 is set to receive existing Fallout 3 downloadable content beginning in June, with two new add-ons announced coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Bethesda has announced plans to bring Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel to PlayStation 3 over the coming months. These Fallout 3 add-ons were previously only available for Xbox 360 and PC.
Operation Anchorage will be released on PS3 in June, with the other content following four to six weeks apart. An update will be released for the PlayStation 3 version of the game to enable such content to work.
Meanwhile new content is coming for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Fallout 3. These are Point Lookout "Explore a massive new swampland area filled with new quests and content" and Mothership Zeta "The aliens have returned, and they're pissed. Experience an alien abduction first hand and find out if you're tough enough to survive."
Point Lookout will be released on PC and Xbox 360 in June and follow on PlayStation 3 once the three other expansions have been released. The cost for the initial PC/X360 release will be 800 Microsoft points. Mothership Zeta will cost the same and will arrive on PC/X360 in July, again with a PS3 release once the other four pieces of content have appeared on the PlayStation Network.
238w ago - Nihilistic Designer John Slavin has announced news that Zombie Apocalypse is hitting PSN today, as follows:
My name is John Slavin, one of Nihilistic's game designers on Zombie Apocalypse, the downloadable title from Konami coming to the PlayStation Network next month.
I wanted to drop in and show some Zombie love to the PlayStation community and give you some previews to what you can expect to see!
So what is Zombie Apocalypse about?
Zombie Apocalypse is pure and gory wish fulfillment. We wanted to strip off the woes of increasingly complex modern mega-games, and retreat back into the world of dank arcades and late-night movie rentals that was our childhood in the 80's and 90's.
We knew multiplayer was a key feature in a game of this type, so we pushed hard to get four-player online co-op integrated from the start. With core values in place, we set out to fill that savage coffer with all the classic zombie lore we loved.
This was not a game in search of a hook, beyond perhaps one to skewer a zombie on. Our goal was to produce a pure arcade shooter, rooted in dual-stick classics such as Robotron: 2084 and Smash...
239w ago - Sony's 2008 results, in the fiscal-year ending March 31st 2009, show that the company sold 10.06 million PlayStation 3's for the year, up 10 per cent from a year earlier.
When adding fiscal-2007's numbers (9.12 million) and fiscal-2006 launch sales (3.61 million), the PlayStation 3 is closing in on 23 million units sold (shipped) worldwide, which it is expected to surpass when April 2009 sales are included.
The company predicts that the console will sell 13 million units during this fiscal-year. This increase is either extremely optimistic, or presumes a price cut, new model, or killer software.
The PSP also saw increased sales at 14.11 million, up from 2007's 13.81 million. PlayStation 2 hardware and software sales were down significantly and the company expects to sell 3 million less in 2009 than in 2008.
Sony's 2008 fiscal results reveal an annual loss of 98.9 billion yen (£685.20 million/$1.04 billion), with losses continuing in the gaming division but tapered by the PlayStation 3's success.
