Video: The Powers of InFamous Second Son PS4: Smoke vs. Neon

54w ago - Lead Designer at Sucker Punch Productions Jaime Griesemer made available a video today dubbed The Powers of InFamous Second Son PS4: Smoke vs. Neon below.

To quote: Sure, when you play inFAMOUS Second Son, you're going to "enjoy your power." But which one are you going to enjoy the most?

Delsin absorbs the ability to control Smoke in his hometown, and then goes to Seattle to find more conduits and gain their powers, starting with Neon. These power sources have different strengths and weaknesses, requiring you to change up your tactics. This has led to an ongoing debate on the design team about which power is actually the best.

Darren Bridges (Power Designer): Ok, is this really a debate? Smoke is the clear winner. There's nothing better than dashing in and choke-slamming some DUP stooge, then firing a Cinder Blast that destroys the tower his buddies are standing on.

Jaime Griesemer (Lead Designer): Sure, if you want to get your hands dirty, Smoke is great. But Neon is clean and streamlined. You're basically firing lasers out of your hands, so you're a natural sniper.

With Neon, combat is all about precision from a distance. Each shot hits hard, especially if you're targeting the enemy's weak points. Neon lets you dissect a squad of Dupes like a...

54w ago - Matt Makes Games Inc Indie Game Developer Matt Thorson posted up a video today announcing that TowerFall Ascension is coming to PS4 in early 2014.

To quote: Hello PlayStation! My name's [Register or Login to view links], I'm a Canadian indie game developer living in Vancouver. I live in a house full of indie developers that we like to call [Register or Login to view links].

I've spent the last year and a half of my life making a game called [Register or Login to view links], and it's finally (almost) done. It's been a wonderful, terrifying, and rewarding process.

For the uninitiated, TowerFall is a local multiplayer combat game about using archery to destroy your friends. It's fast-paced, intense, and strategic, with nuanced controls, one-hit kills, and limited ammo. It's very simple to learn and almost anyone can play, but if you spend more time with it you'll find many layers of hidden depth waiting to be discovered.

From the moment I had four players jumping around on screen, I knew TowerFall was a game about bringing people together. From childhood all through high school and university, I had a lot of meaningful experiences with local multiplayer.

I've...

Trine 2: Complete Story Coming to PS4 / PlayStation 4 Tomorrow

100°
54w ago - Today Kai at Frozenbyte announced that Trine 2: Complete Story is coming to PS4 / PlayStation 4 tomorrow with details below.

To quote: Hi everyone. I'm very happy to announce that Trine 2: Complete Story is a PS4 launch game. That was our goal, and it's been a hectic few months, but we've made it. Trine 2: Complete Story is now officially lined up to arrive on PS4 tomorrow.

In the trailer above, you'll see some of the new skills that are available in the Complete Story version, such as the Knight's Kitesail Shield, and the Thief's Low Gravity Arrow. There are a total of 20 levels full of adventure, with sceneries ranging from lush forests to a scorching hot desert, and the insides of a gigantic sandworm - even isles floating in the sky.

Trine 2: Complete Story supports DualShock 4′s touch pad, and it makes many elements of the gameplay very intuitive. An example of this is drawing boxes or planks with the wizard, and moving them around and interacting with the environment.

On the tech side, Trine 2 runs at beautiful full HD 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second. It's truly a sight to see, and what's more is that we're also one of the few games at launch with stereoscopic 3D support. So remember...
