Uncharted 3 PS3 Patch 1.09 Incoming, Patch Details Revealed

200°
120w ago - Following up on their previous Uncharted 3 PS3 patch update notes, today Naughty Dog have revealed the version 1.09 changes outlined below.

To quote: Patch 1.09 will be deploying Monday April 9th 2012 (PST). Here is a rundown of all the changes we've made as we moved from 1.07 to 1.08 to 1.09.

The Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception 1.09 patch will be deployed April 9th 2012. It will roll out across all regions globally over 24 hours once deployed. We were able to get both patch 1.08 and 1.09 through the testing and approval processes around the same time. Therefore we are releasing them together. Since the changes are cumulative you'll only see an update for patch 1.09 when you download it.

Additionally, for those of you who prefer to watch video over reading the notes, we have made two videos detailing the changes in update 1.08 and update 1.09. These videos summarize the patch notes you'll read in this post. Videos such as these should be available for all patches moving forward. Hooray video!

Upload your cinema files to YouTube this weekend in order to preserve them.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After seeing the mention of video, if you don't...

Video: PS Vita VHBL Game Revealed: Motorstorm Arctic Edge, Details

1300°
125w ago - Following up on the previous update, today PS Vita homebrew developer wololo has revealed the game used for the PlayStation Vita Half Byte Loader (VHBL) is Motorstorm Arctic Edge (Motorstorm Raging Ice in Japan) and shared a video of it in action below!

As a result, Sony has officially removed the Motorstorm Arctic Edge title from PlayStation Store.

To quote: "Ok, so, since the PSN maintenance is being postponed, there is no reason for me to not give the name of the game used by Teck4 for his exploit:

The Game is Motorstorm Arctic Edge, also known as Motorstorm Raging Ice in Japan. It is available for 19.99 euro on most European Playstation Stores, 15.99 Pounds in the UK, and for 3800 yen on the Japanese store.

Note for North American readers: that game, despite being available on the US Store, is marked as not compatible with the Vita in the US. People who have bought it in the US and tried to transfer it to their vita have failed as far as I know, which is why a few days ago I recommended people in the US to get a European PSN account.

Now what's next?

Well it's simple and stressful at the same time: I'm giving you guys...

To quote: When I say that Borderlands changed my life, it's no exaggeration. It was the way that the game rewarded each and every action that got me. Every enemy I gunned down, every chest I opened brought a feeling of accomplishment and progression.

So when I had the opportunity to join the team at Gearbox Software, I moved halfway across the country without a moment's hesitation. Ever since, I've been seeing things that amaze me, things I know our fans will absolutely love. Things I haven't been able to talk about... until today.

You're going to meet the four new playable characters. You're going to catch a glimpse of the colorful new environments and areas you'll be fighting through.

Video: Futurlab's Space Shooter Velocity is Now Revealed

200°
128w ago - FuturLab Managing Director James Marsden has revealed their new space shooter Velocity today alongside details of getting it free at launch via PlayStation Plus.

To quote: I'm here today to show you our awesome new teleportation shoot 'em-up that is packed with innovative features - and it's a game that YOU named!

We had hundreds of entries, which we were very grateful for, and settled on 'VELOCITY', as it described the concept and gameplay very well - and is a cool word!

Here at [Register or Login to view links] we don't think it is good enough to churn out cloned games. We wanted to do justice to the nostalgia of early games in the shoot 'em-up genre, so that people can pick up Velocity and feel right at home, but also feel the excitement of playing something completely new!

After many months prototyping, we knew we had something special with Velocity - the teleporting mechanics had never been done before - so we wanted a big sound to complement the gameplay experience.

We are therefore incredibly excited that Joris de Man, the award winning composer that wrote and produced the music for Killzone 2 & 3, has co-written and co-produced the music for Velocity!

So it sounds incredible and is a genuine, high quality homage to the classic...
