End of Year Exclusives: Sony Vs Microsoft

50°
330w ago - Last year you'll have no arguments that Microsoft's better games line up prevailed over Sony's. You could forgiven Sony and its developers for not having enough time to get used to the new hardware or it could have been that Microsoft just crammed all their five star quality titles into a few months.

Whatever the reason, it leaves 2008 to be more important. With now both Sony and Microsoft preparing great looking line ups for the end of the year. We take a look to find out who's line up looks better on paper.

Sony's heavy hitters are Killzone 2, Resistance 2 & Little Big Planet and to be honest that sounds like enough to fight off anything Microsoft have as Sony are releasing what should be 3 fantastic games.

Although Microsoft will be serving up some Gears of War 2, Fable 2 & Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise to combat Sony's onslaught. At the recent industry press events we got a truck load of information about what both company's will be offering come Christmas time.

Microsoft

Microsoft don't exactly have the massive line up they've had in previous years but come with a few hotly anticipated games. Gears of War 2 is already looking like a suitable follow up to, arguably 2006's Game of the Year. While titles like Viva Pinata & Banjo Kazooie are...

Rumor: Confirmation that Haze is just a timed PS3 exclusive?

50°
332w ago - On completion of the Haze demo gamers have been greeted with the following message:

"Exclusive on the PlayStation 3 system: 4-Player CO-OP campaign."

This seems to confirm the belief that it is just a timed exclusive, and that the 4-Player CO-OP campaign is something that will be exclusive to the PS3.

Does this confirm the rumors that the PC and Xbox 360 versions are still coming? Maybe Ubisoft has let the cat out of the bag and the cancelled versions for the PC and Xbox 360 were just postponed so the PS3 could see some love from Ubisoft?

Time will tell, but it is strange wording to say the least.

334w ago - According to the developers over at Digi-Guys, the Wardevil: Unleash the Beast Within posters will start to develop some of the style and mood that'll be a part of the game.

For those of you who don't know already, Wardevil is a PS3 exclusive and is set to hit sometime near the end of 2008 or possibly early 2009.

The game will feature an all new game engine called, RTE1080, which allows for 60fps animations and 1080p resolutions. As you may have seen in our last screenshot update, the game also features high resolution textures.

Some details the developers have told PSU:

- They are not finished with the game yet, still adding improvements both gameplay wise and graphically.
- They are making good use of the SPU's and streaming off of the Blu-ray disc
- Their goal is to get the Blu-ray film & game to look as identical as possible...so there is no transition between game/cinematic
