250°
287w ago - Nintendo has sprung up a new DS Lite bundle. The Nintendo DS Lite Green Spring Bundle arrives just in time for spring, and for Mother's Day.

To quote from the Press Release: Ah, spring. The time when everyone's fancy turns to... video games. To celebrate the season of growth and rejuvenation, Nintendo announces the blooming of a new Nintendo DS™ system color: Green.

The cool new color comes bundled with a hip carrying case and a copy of the Personal Trainer™: Cooking video game, which serves as an interactive cooking coach.

The new bundle will be available on May 3, which just happens to be a week before Mother's Day (hint, hint). Just like everyone else, moms are always looking for new and interesting meal ideas. Personal Trainer: Cooking includes more than 245 recipes from around the world, along with step-by-step instructions for how to prepare them.

The Nintendo DS Lite Green Spring Bundle is available for pre-order here, at a $149.99 MSRP.

European Union May Order Microsoft to Bundle Other Browsers

296w ago - The European Union's antitrust investigation team has released preliminary statements on how it will rule on the question of whether Microsoft abused its dominant market position to push the adoption of Internet Explorer; the remarks are not encouraging.

The investigation is not over–Microsoft still has time to issue its own formal response to further concerns the EU raised in January–but the company may need a Hail Mary pass to escape the penalty the EU is prepared to level.

Jonathan Todd, spokesperson for the EU Commissioner for Competition Neelie Kroes, gave the Web site [Register or Login to view links] a peek into what the commission is planning in the event that Microsoft cannot successfully answer the EU's questions.

"If the Commission's preliminary conclusions as outlined in the recent statement of objections were confirmed," Todd said, "the Commission would intend to impose remedies that enabled users and manufacturers to make an unbiased choice between Internet Explorer and competing third party web browsers." There's also a hefty fine attached to the remedy, but it's the browser issue we'll focus on.

"Unbiased," in this case, means "bundled." Under the proposed penalty,...

Killzone 2 PS3 Bundle Coming to Europe, Packshot Available

100°
303w ago - It seems that Sony are all set to release an official PS3 bundle with the game and a PlayStation 3 console if this packshot (below) is to be believed.

To quote: The bundle is for Europe only right now with no current plans from either SCEA or SCEJ, but we'll hedge a bet that SCEA will do something similar and announce it just before launch.

No price has been given yet, but we'll assume it'll be out with the game on Februrary 25th in Europe and February 27th in the UK.

While a bundle seems to be the most obvious thing right now in the world, it's still a good move for the game as there are a lot of people who are buying a PlayStation 3 just to get Killzone 2.

From what we can tell based on that extremely blurry photo you see, the package will sell for a holiday-destroying $499.99, so you'd better hope grandma drops a big check on you this season.
