Today, our cover athlete, [Register or Login to view links], will be taking the field for his home opener at a brand new address that includes real grass, fresh air, and clear skies (hopefully).

The Twins will play host to the Red Sox as they say good-bye to the Metrodome, their home since 1982, and say hello to the state-of-the-art sports cathedral that is [Register or Login to view links].

So, to celebrate this historic day for Joe and Minnesota fans everywhere, we thought we'd give you a behind the scenes look into how we created the Twins new home in MLB 10 The Show.

Our development team strives for ultimate realism in all areas of the game, and that's no different in this case. I hope you enjoy the glimpse into the making of Target Field. Welcome to The Show!

Sony's PS3 and PSP to Get Skinny PSN Applications Store

300°
228w ago - It's been both rumored and in development for quite some time, and now [Register or Login to view links] has confirmed that Sony's PS3 and PSP are indeed getting a 'skinny' PSN applications store.

Dubbed skinny, the SDK tool is a simple yet effective means for content holders to put their intellectual property on the PlayStation platforms without software development.

Skinny consists of an authoring tool and a native client runtime for PS3 and PSP developers.

To quote: "Skinny is "ideal" for "strategy guides, game maps, cheats, training manuals, episodic videos, eBooks and eMagazines" and consists of a web-based editor/authouring tool and a software client for both the PS3 and PSP.

The user creations still require submission to Sony for approval, but this will quickly pave the way for lots of mini-apps on the PlayStation Store."

PS3 Gets Unlimited Storage with Infinite USB Memory Device

650°
230w ago - A new product called the Infinite USB Memory Device offers PS3 and XBox 360 owners with 'unlimited' storage.

According to IGN, the device essentially creates an ad-hoc wireless network which enables you to stream movies and so forth.

To quote: "Rather than storing a handful of gigabytes on each stick, the Infinite USB Memory device (IUM) stores zero gigabytes. Instead, it creates an ad hoc wireless network between your laptop and whatever other USB enabled device you want to connect to.

You can stream movies to your PS3 or Xbox 360, send images to your once non-wireless printer, or even transfer files between computers by making your whole hard-drive available on the network.

Best of all, there are no drivers to install - aside from a one-time "pairing" process that installs the awesomely titled "Infinite Portal" onto your computer - and it works with all operating systems."
