132w ago - Zipper Interactive Senior Community Manager Jeremy Dunham has welcomed fans back to SOCOM 4 on the PS3 today and announced they are issuing free maps and weapons to PlayStation Plus users.
To quote: We're very happy today to announce that SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs is now offering free maps and weapons to all PS Plus users!
You might remember that we gave away the classic SOCOM map "Abandoned" and a couple of exclusive shotguns as an incentive to pre-order the game through GameStop. All PlayStation Plus users can now download "Abandoned" and the shotguns free for the next month!
For those of you without Plus yet, don't worry-your time will come shortly. Recall the blog announcement a couple weeks back announcing that, as a token of appreciation, the PlayStation Network will be giving all users 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership, coming soon. After a month of PlayStation Plus availability, "Abandoned" and the shotguns will continue to be available for SOCOM Pro members.
But that's not all. When we announced SOCOM Pro shortly before SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs hit stores, we promised that we'd be delivering the oft-requested M16 and AK-47 shortly after release. We're happy today to not only say that they're almost here, but that they're being...
133w ago - Today LightBox Interactive President Dylan Jobe has answered some Starhawk PS3 questions alongside some fresh video footage below.
To quote: We all know a good reveal is just the first step in making our fans happy and we're looking forward to showing you guys even more tasty Starhawk content and get you more plugged into the Starhawk universe!
So the other day I asked all of you on Twitter to send me Starhawk questions that you wanted to get answered, and while we're still planning on doing a full FAQ post here on the PlayStation.Blog, I wanted to take a few of the questions that were popular and answer them straight away. Here goes:
Does Starhawk have two flight modes?
YES. Initially we wanted to have Starhawk use only a single flight mode so that all players were unified. We worked a lot on this but ultimately decided that the needs of a newbie player and the needs of a hardcore Warhawk fan were just too far apart and we weren't willing to make the compromises needed to jam everyone into a single flight mode.
So... Starhawk has two flight modes and both are great! The default mode is very simple and great for new to mid-level players (and yes, reverse aiming issues have been fixed). It's a re-vamped version of our "arcade mode" (but...
138w ago - Codemasters Community Manager Benjamin Bateman has shared a video today of a TV ad for Operation Flashpoint: Red River which arrives on the PlayStation 3 entertainment system today.
To quote: Red River is out now and you can pick it up from all your favourite retailers! To mark this momentous occasion we've this spectacular TV advert that shows Codemasters putting the everyday folks, like you and me, in the boots of a Marine!
We've strived to make Red River the closest experience you can get to being a marine without signing up. Whether you choose to hit the battlefield as a Grenadier, Scout, Rifleman or Automatic Rifleman, the drop-in / drop-out co-op makes sure that there's plenty of fun to have.
If you then want to break from the exhilarating campaign you can always immerse yourself in the 4 excellent FTE game modes.
• Last Stand - Fight off hoards of enemies! The longer you and your friends hold ground, the more points you get. But don't forget to bug out or you'll just bag a big fat zero points!
• CSAR - Combat Search and Rescue sets you in a Black Hawk Down style scenario. Find the...

139w ago - Today Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has made available a fresh trailer spotlighting Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One in Terawatt Forest and the Mystery of the Creature Collector.
To quote: Yesterday in Los Angeles, we presented a new demo of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One to an audience of US and European journalists.
While we presented some new levels and weapons/gadgets, we also wanted to show once again that All 4 One is a sprawling new Ratchet & Clank adventure, with a full story, big arsenal, and tons of co-op mayhem. Further, in All 4 One, we like to say there's an "I" in team: work together, but reward yourself.
You all have to help each other out, but at the same time, the winner will earn the best rewards and get the first chance to buy the newest weapons in the game.
We illustrated this in a new level of the game, set in the Terawatt Forest on Planet Magnus. It's the home of a scientist named Dr. Croid – who holds the key to the mystery of the Creature Collector.
The plants and animals here are mutated thanks to the presence of a strange meteor - and players will also have to look out for Dr. Croid's giant Guardian robots that patrol the area (which you'll see in the...
