Sony Takes Legal Action Against Datel for PSP Lite Blue Tool

298w ago - Just under [Register or Login to view links] Datel announced that the PSP-3000 was hacked via Service Mode using a device known as their Lite Blue Tool.

However, Sony Europe is now taking legal action against Datel for their much-hyped PSP 'Lite Blue Tool' Battery.

Datel notes that they "will inform customers about availability of this product when this situation has been resolved" so perhaps it will eventually hit the market.

Currently, the new 'alternative' is known as the Max Power Digital, which will put the PSP-2000 in Service Mode and serve only as a battery replacement for the PSP-3000.

305w ago - The mysterious "PS3mote", the Wii-mote-like PS3 controller that has been talked about numerous times over the past 2 years the PS3 has been released. Every gamer knows the power of a controller like this. The Nintendo Wii is the best selling console this generation, and let's face it... It's because of the controller.

A controller that is so user friendly, that even grandma, and grandpa can pick it up, not be intimidated, and have a blast. That's the appeal, everyone has used a remote for their TV, their VCR, their DVD player. The remote is an icon in American (and I am sure many other) culture.

DRM in Free Trials and Demos, Two New Class-Action Suits

307w ago - What's the point? SecuROM is there to make sure that you own the original CD for whatever it is protecting, but to put it in free trials downloaded off the Internet.. really what's the point?

Especially when you don't include that in the EULA. Read more at Slashdot and GamesPolitics.

To quote: Now, two new class-action suits have been filed that target the SecuROM software included in a free trial of the Spore Creature Creator (PDF) and in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage (PDF).

If this sort of legal reprisal continues to catch on, EA could be seeing quite a few class-action suits in the future. One of the suits accuses:
