50°
352w ago - It's not often that we can jump up for joy, and say that we were right about something, but today, Amy Henning has confirmed our initial report regarding the Uncharted Demo on the Official Playstation blog. If you remember our previous story from last week, we unearthed a statement from Evan Wells, the co-president of Naughty Dog, stating that the demo for their upcoming game will probably hit PSN twelve days before the release of the game. We stood behind that report stating...

"As far as we are concerned, an Uncharted demo will be out 12 days before the American release...so in about 2 weeks! We can't wait to get on down with Nathan Drake (uh, perhaps the wrong choice of words) on November 8th (at least on the US Playstation Store). Exciting stuff aye?"

Amy Henning, Gaming Director at Naughty Dog, replied to a poster on the Official Playstation blog stating the official release date of the demo...

"Hi Kittonwy – the demo will go live on the PSN next Thursday, November 8th."

Well, as it turns out, the date we stated, wasn't just close, it was right on the money! The Uncharted demo will grace your Playstation 3 on November 8th.

In terms of details, all we know about the demo at this point, is that it will start with Drake and Elena parachuting out of...

New PS3 TV Ad Campaign

50°
352w ago - Greetings PlayStation Nation! Like all of you, I've been a big fan of our new blog - but until now, I've been staying behind the scenes. I'm excited to share my first post here and thought that our new advertising campaign for the PS3 would be of interest to everyone. In fact, the campaign is scheduled to break this weekend in conjunction with the introduction of the new 40GB PS3 here in North America. But as a reward for being some of our most loyal fans, I wanted to get this out to all of you first.

Last year, we launched the PS3 with a campaign that become known as the "White Room" and we received a strong reaction to those ads for being provocative and demonstrating the PS3's power. With those technology messages now firmly embedded, we wanted to move beyond the "power" message with a more high-energy, entertainment driven focus for the PS3. The games are here, the price point is now $399 and we wanted to make the news loud and clear.

But we need to deliver that in a way that befits the PlayStation brand. And so, beyond the brilliant HD games that the PS3 delivers, you'll also see a big focus behind the PS3's Blu-ray movie capability and, for the first time, you'll see a major focus behind the PLAYSTATION Network (did I mention online gaming is free on PS3??) and the exclusive...

352w ago - The latest issue of Japanese gaming publication, Famitsu, has revealed that Capcom will be releasing Devil May Cry 4 in Japan on January 31, 2008, putting it slightly ahead of its North American release next February.

Consumers who purchase early will receive a special bonus DVD, featuring either Dante or Nero's likeness from what we can tell, with the actual game retailing for approximately 7990 yen.

Set between the events of the original Devil May Cry and its sequel, Devil May Cry 4 pits players in the shoes of Nero - a dexterous, highly accomplished swordsman and gunslinger.

Clashing with series protagonist Dante in the middle of a demonic invasion of the city of Fortuna, players must guide Nero on a quest for the truth as they make use of his deadly Devil Bringer arm, which gamers can utilize to string together a slew of devastating attack combos.
